Injuries in High School Sports
PEDIATRICS, 1978A two-year study was made of injuries received in high school sports. Athletic trainers were placed in four high schools to conduct the investigation. Injuries occurred in women's sports at a rate of 22 per 100 participants; men's injuries occurred at a rate of 39 per 100 participants.

School sport—A neurophysiological approach
Neuroscience Letters, 2009The aim of this study was to identify neurophysiological correlates for previously reported positive effects of exercise on academic achievement in school children using a distributed source localization algorithm. Electro-cortical activity of 11 school children (9-10y) was recorded before and after a moderate 15-min bike exercise.

Sports Injuries in a High School
Pediatrics, 1989A 1-year study was undertaken investigating all sports injuries at a large high school. A total of 1283 student athletes participated in sports and suffered 280 injuries for an overall injury rate of 22%. The largest injury rate was in football (61%) followed by girls and boys gymnastics, wrestling, and boys basketball. Five sports had no injuries—boys'
