First Metabolic Insights into Ex Vivo Cryptosporidium parvum-Infected Bovine Small Intestinal Explants Studied under Physioxic Conditions

open access: yesBiology, 2021
The apicomplexan Cryptosporidium parvum causes thousands of human deaths yearly. Since bovines represent the most important reservoir of C. parvum, the analysis of infected bovine small intestinal (BSI) explants cultured under physioxia offers a ...

An algorithm for computing Schubert varieties of best fit with applications

open access: yesFrontiers in Artificial Intelligence, 2023
We propose the geometric framework of the Schubert variety as a tool for representing a collection of subspaces of a fixed vector space. Specifically, given a collection of l-dimensional subspaces V1, …, Vr of ℝn, represented as the column spaces of ...

Quantum Pieri rules for isotropic Grassmannians [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
We study the three point genus zero Gromov-Witten invariants on the Grassmannians which parametrize non-maximal isotropic subspaces in a vector space equipped with a nondegenerate symmetric or skew-symmetric form.

Metabolic Signatures of Cryptosporidium parvum-Infected HCT-8 Cells and Impact of Selected Metabolic Inhibitors on C. parvum Infection under Physioxia and Hyperoxia

open access: yesBiology, 2021
Cryptosporidium parvum is an apicomplexan zoonotic parasite recognized as the second leading-cause of diarrhoea-induced mortality in children. In contrast to other apicomplexans, C.parvum has minimalistic metabolic capacities which are almost exclusively

On Schubert calculus in elliptic cohomology [PDF]

open access: yesDiscrete Mathematics & Theoretical Computer Science, 2015
An important combinatorial result in equivariant cohomology and $K$-theory Schubert calculus is represented by the formulas of Billey and Graham-Willems for the localization of Schubert classes at torus fixed points.

A Low‐Permeability TEMPO‐Phosphate as an Anionic Posolyte for Aqueous Redox‐Flow Batteries

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Phosphate groups are appended to TEMPO‐based active materials for use in aqueous redox‐flow batteries. In addition to improving water‐solubility, these dianionic groups are strongly repelled by the cation‐exchange membrane, thus greatly reducing TEMPO crossover.
