Schur-Convexity, Gamma Functions, and Moments
2008The gamma function is a central function that arises in many contexts. A wide class of inequalities is obtained by showing that certain gamma functions are Schur-convex coupled with majorization of two vectors.

Schur Convexity of Functional Bonferroni Mean
Journal of Inequalities and Mathematical AnalysisIn this paper, we introduce a functional extension of the classical Bonferroni mean. Using tools from majorization theory together with differential criteria for Schur convexity, we establish sufficient conditions under which the functional Bonferroni mean and the functional generalized Bonferroni harmonic mean are Schur convex, Schur concave, or Schur

Functions Generating Schur-Convex Sums
1987This paper provides a representation theorem for functions f with Schur-convex sums $$\sum\nolimits_1^n {f(x_{^i } )}$$ .

A Problem Concerning Schur-Convex Functions
1983There are several infinitesimal characterizations of convex functions. For example, a continuous function f is convex iff $${{\bar D}^2}f(t): = \mathop {\lim \;\sup }\limits_{h \to 0} \;[f(t + h) + f(t - h) - 2f(t)]/{h^2}$$ , is nonnegative. Question: Are there similar infinitesimal characterizations (of the if-and-only-if type) for Schur-convex

Functions Generating Strongly Schur-Convex Sums
2012The notion of strongly Schur-convex functions is introduced and functions generating strongly Schur-convex sums are investigated. The results presented are counterparts of the classical Hardy–Littlewood–Polya majorization theorem and the theorem of Ng characterizing functions generating Schur-convex sums.

Schur-convexity of Cebišev functional
2010The Cebišev functional T(f ; g ; a ; b) is regarded as a function of two variables T(f ; g ; x ; y).The Schur-covexity of this function is considered. Some applications for the means are pointed out.
