A schwannoma located in the penile shaft in a 74-year-old patient is described. A review of the schwannoma of the penis is presented and the importance of the S-100 protein stain is stressed.

Schwannomas are benign nerve-sheath tumors that arise from Schwann cells. They can present as endobronchial lesions with symptoms of obstruction and hemoptysis. We describe the first case of multiple endobronchial schwannomas at 3 different sites in a single patient. The autofluorescence ratio was

Trigeminal schwannomas are the second most common intracranial schwannoma. They may occur sporadically or in association with neurofibromatosis type 2. The vast majority are benign in nature although malignancies have been reported. They may present with a range of symptoms because of their variable locations in areas with multiple differing functional

Olfactory schwannomas are very rare. For this reason they have never been diagnosed preoperatively. We report a case and describe the CT and MR imaging findings. Clinically, the young age of presentation, and radiologically the presence of bone scalloping, and the absence of both bone sclerosis and a dural tail, may help in the differential diagnosis ...

A 58-year-old woman was admitted due to an abnormal shadow on chest X-ray, without any symptoms. Chest computed tomography showed a round mass in the anterior segment of the right upper lobe. Segmentectomy was performed and histopathological examination revealed a primary neurogenic tumor of Schwann cell origin.

A case of retroperitoneal benign schwannoma is presented; in addition, 133 cases of retroperitoneal schwannoma reported in Japanese literature are studied. In our series 66 per cent of the cases were found to be cystic. Therefore, the cystic change may be one of the preoperative features of schwannomas, because other types of retroperitoneal tumor do ...

Schwannoma in the retroperitoneum
Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology Research, 2007AbstractSchwannoma (neurilemmoma) is a peripheral nerve sheath tumor and commonly occurs singularly on the head, neck, and trunk. Giant schwannoma is rarely located on the retroperitoneum and pelvic cavity. The majority of symptoms caused by the tumor are due to the effect of its mass. Surgical resection is enough to treat the tumor.

Over the past two decades, the emphasis on the management of acoustic neuromas has turned from the single goal of preserving the patient's life to early diagnosis and functional preservation of cranial nerves.

AbstractIntralabyrinthine schwannomas are rare tumours which present with symptomssimilar to Meniere's disease. Preoperative diagnosis is rarely possible and most are foundincidentally during labyrinthectomy for persistent vertigo. A further case of this tumouris reported together with a review of the literature.

Schwannomas may occur anywhere in the body, but their occurrence in the penis is rare and unusual. These tumors are important to urologists because findings mimic other urologic disease. Treatment is surgical removal; they are rarely multifocal and seldom metastasize. A patient with schwannomas of the penis is described.
