The representatives of gall midge genera Catotricha Edw. and Congramastix End. are for the first time found within USSR, all of them are described as new. C. marinae sp. n.-Sc free, M stem shorter than fork; C. subterranea sp. n.-only two ocelli are present; G. major sp. n. and G. minor sp.

A storage protein in Rhynchosciara americana (Diptera, Sciaridae)
Insect Biochemistry, 1984Abstract In Rhynchosciara americana larvae, a protein referred to as “protein 6” comprises one of the major plasma proteins of last instar larvae. This protein is a glycoprotein with an apparent molecular weight of 445,000, possibly a hexamer made up from two types of subunits with molecular weights of 72,000 and 74,000.

1991The concept of Phytosciara Frey with the subgenera P. (Phytosciara), P. (Dolichosciara) and P. (Prosciara) is polyphyletic and the subgenera are treated as genera. Prosciara includes 1 Holarctic, 8 Palearctic and 28 Oriental species. The species are keyed and described, including the following new species: P. angustiloba sp. n. (Thailand), P. biceps sp.

1994Lobosciara Steffan, characterized by unusual modifications in the male genitalia, is the sister group of Dolichosciara Tuomikoski. The concept of the genus is redefined on the basis of the new material.
