The representatives of gall midge genera Catotricha Edw. and Congramastix End. are for the first time found within USSR, all of them are described as new. C. marinae sp. n.-Sc free, M stem shorter than fork; C. subterranea sp. n.-only two ocelli are present; G. major sp. n. and G. minor sp.

A storage protein in Rhynchosciara americana (Diptera, Sciaridae)
Insect Biochemistry, 1984Abstract In Rhynchosciara americana larvae, a protein referred to as “protein 6” comprises one of the major plasma proteins of last instar larvae. This protein is a glycoprotein with an apparent molecular weight of 445,000, possibly a hexamer made up from two types of subunits with molecular weights of 72,000 and 74,000.

Prosciara includes 1 Holarctic, 8 Palearctic and 28 Oriental species. The species are keyed and described, including the following new species: P. angustiloba sp. n. (Thailand), P. biceps sp.
