FEBS Letters, EarlyView.Accurate protein synthesis is crucial for life. The key players are aminoacyl‐tRNA synthetases (AARSs), which read the genetic code by pairing cognate amino acids and tRNAs. AARSs establish high amino acid selectivity by employing physicochemical limits in molecular recognition.
