Securing science gateways

Proceedings of the 2011 TeraGrid Conference: Extreme Digital Discovery, 2011
Science gateways began to emerge and evolve on the NSF-sponsored national HPC cyberinfrastructure, known today as the TeraGrid, in the early 2000s. Currently, the TeraGrid supports twenty-five science gateways that utilize a diverse collection of software and methods for integrating with the TeraGrid.

TeraGrid Science Gateways and Their Impact on Science

Funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF), TeraGrid is one of the world's largest distributed cyberinfrastructures for open scientific research. The project began in 2001 as the Distributed Tera-scale Facility, which linked computers, visualization systems, and data at four sites through a dedicated 40-gigabit optical network.
