The Fortress Cities on the Onega in the XVII Century

open access: yesПроект Байкал, 2019

Convolutional neural network based reconstruction of flow-fields from concentration fields for liquid-droplet coalescence

open access: yesCommunications Physics
The coalescence of liquid droplets and lenses is of great practical and theoretical importance in fluid dynamics and the statistical mechanics of multiphase flows.

LINC01116, a hypoxia‐lncRNA marker of pathological lymphangiogenesis and poor prognosis in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The LINC01116 long noncoding RNA is induced by hypoxia and associated with poor prognosis and high recurrence rates in two cohorts of lung adenocarcinoma patients. Here, we demonstrate that besides its expression in cancer cells, LINC01116 is markedly expressed in lymphatic endothelial cells of the tumor stroma in which it participates in hypoxia ...

Architecture of Russian Avant-Garde and Japanese Metabolism: Parallels of Forms and Meanings

open access: yesПроект Байкал, 2019
Russian avant-garde of the 1920-ies and Japanese metabolism of the 1960-ies are close to each other in their fundamental ideas and major concepts of morphogenesis: the removal of the distinction between form and content, architectural structures ...

Emergent turbulence and coarsening arrest in active-spinner fluids

open access: yesCommunications Physics
Turbulence in active fluids is a rapidly developing area in active-matter research. Yet the mechanisms and universal statistics of turbulence in a binary mixture of counter-rotating spinners remain unclear. We uncover activity-driven crossover from phase

PARP inhibition and pharmacological ascorbate demonstrate synergy in castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pharmacologic ascorbate (vitamin C) increases ROS, disrupts cellular metabolism, and induces DNA damage in CRPC cells. These effects sensitize tumors to PARP inhibition, producing synergistic growth suppression with olaparib in vitro and significantly delayed tumor progression in vivo. Pyruvate rescue confirms ROS‐dependent activity.

LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.
