Scinax ruber (Laurenti 1768) Neotype: RMNH 15922 B. Type locality: “ America.” Neotype from Paramaribo, Surinam. Distribution: Regions 2, 5. Widely distributed through the Guiana Shield Basin (northeastern Brazil, south and eastern Venezuela, Guyana, Suriname, French Guiana), Trinidad and Tobago, and St. Lucia in the Lesser Antilles.

Scinax sp. 2 External morphology. Description based on four tadpoles at Stages 35 and 37 (LCS 618). Total length 26.7 ± 1.1 mm (N = 4). Body ovoid in dorsal view and triangular in lateral view (Fig. 44A, B). Snout rounded in dorsal and lateral views. Eyes medium-sized, positioned and directed laterally.

Hide and Seek: Species Detectability in a Biodiversity Hotspot Increased by Environmental DNA
We demonstrated through Bayesian modeling that eDNA metabarcoding offers equivalent or higher detectability than traditional field inventory techniques for anuran species in a biodiversity hotspot. The number of recorded species was also higher in seven out of ten sampled streams.

We report a new record of Scinax canastrensis from central region of Minas Gerais state. This record represents a range extension of ca. 175 km northeast from the type-locality, at Parque Nacional Serra da Canastra, and the third register of this species

A new species of Scinax Wagler, 1830 belonging to the S. catharinae species group is described from the state of Goiás, in the Cerrado Biome, Brazil. Scinax skaios sp. nov.
