In four patients with pheochromocytoma, scintigraphy with 131I-meta-iodobenzylguanidine was performed to localize hyperfunctioning adrenergic tissue. In three patients unilateral adrenal pheochromocytoma was found, whereas one patient with a malignant pheochromocytoma showed multilocular dissemination.
