Bone scintigraphy in hypervitaminosis A

open access: bronzeAmerican Journal of Roentgenology, 1985
The diagnosis of vitamin A intoxification may be difficult at the time of initial presentation. The radionuclide bone scan in cases of vitamin A toxicity may serve as a more sensitive indicator of the presence of this disease than radiographs in the initial evaluation and follow-up of patients with skeletal involvement.

Multimodality imaging in the diagnostic management of concomitant aortic stenosis and transthyretin-related wild-type cardiac amyloidosis

open access: yesFrontiers in Cardiovascular Medicine, 2023
Severe aortic stenosis (AS) is the most common valvular heart disease with a prevalence rate of more than 4% in 75-year-old people or older. Similarly, cardiac amyloidosis (CA), especially “wild-type transthyretin” (wTTR), has shown a prevalence rate ...

Quantitative Scintigraphy Imaging of Lingual Raynaud’s Phenomenon Using 3-Dimensional-Ring Cadmium-Zinc-Telluride Single-Photon Emission Computed Tomography/Computed Tomography

open access: yesTomography, 2022
Perfusion scintigraphy with the acquisition of planar blood flow and pool images of bilateral hands has been used to aid diagnosis and to evaluate treatment response to Raynaud’s phenomenon (decreased blood flow to hand or foot).

Gastric Emptying Is Not Delayed and Does Not Correlate With Attenuated Postprandial Blood Flow Increase in Medicated Patients With Early Parkinson's Disease

open access: yesFrontiers in Neurology, 2022
BackgroundWe have recently used phase-contrast magnetic resonance imaging (PC-MRI) to demonstrate an attenuated postprandial blood flow response in the superior mesenteric artery (SMA) in 23 medicated patients with Parkinson's disease (PD) compared to 23
