Development of the First Tritiated Tetrazine: Facilitating Tritiation of Proteins

open access: yesChemBioChem, Volume 23, Issue 23, December 5, 2022., 2022
A tritiated tetrazine based on a phenyl/pyridyl core structure was successfully radiolabeled with NaBT4 by reducing an aldehyde moiety. The synthon was effectively employed to label an antibody in vitro with pretargeted autoradiography. Abstract Tetrazine (Tz)–trans‐cyclooctene (TCO) ligation is an ultra‐fast and highly selective reaction and it is ...

High‐Fidelity Information Transmission Through the Turbulent Atmosphere Utilizing Partially Coherent Cylindrical Vector Beams

open access: yesAdvanced Photonics Research, EarlyView.
A novel free‐space optical communication protocol that combines the benefits of partially coherent light sources with the decoding capabilities of convolutional neural networks is proposed. This approach establishes a robust communication link that can withstand atmospheric turbulence.

Atmospheric Scintillation Noise in Ground-Based Exoplanet Photometry [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Atmospheric scintillation caused by optical turbulence in the Earth's atmosphere can be the dominant source of noise in ground-based photometric observations of bright targets, which is a particular concern for ground-based exoplanet transit photometry.

Scintillation characteristics of the EJ-299-02H scintillator

open access: yesReview of Scientific Instruments
A study of the dead layer thickness and quenching factor of a plastic scintillator for use in ultracold neutron (UCN) experiments is described. Alpha spectroscopy was used to determine the thickness of a thin surface dead layer to be 630 ± 110 nm.

Scintillation Response of 0D Cs3Cu2I5 Thin Layers to Light‐ and Heavy‐Ion Irradiation

open access: yesAdvanced Photonics Research, EarlyView.
Driven by increasing interest in uncovering the remarkable photoluminescence quantum yield of Cs3Cu2I5, polycrystalline thin layers are synthesized to investigate its radioluminescence response to energetic ions. Its spectroscopic capability is assessed in a wide range of ion mass and internal excitation processes are explored.

Measurement of Krypton-85 in samples of atmospheric with Quantulus 1220 device without using a liquid scintillator [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2015
The possibility of measuring the 85Kr activity with a liquid scintillation spectrometer (LSS) by registering the scintillations in krypton was investigated. It was found that at partial pressure of krypton less than atmospheric, the conversion efficiency of krypton scintillators amounts to 3 keV/photon and is 20 times lower than the conversion ...

Nanocrystal Compressive Residual Stresses: A Strategy to Strengthen the Bony Spines of Osteocytic and Anosteocytic Fish

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Advanced neoteleost fishbones, such as medaka, challenge bone adaptation strategies. While zebrafish bones contain osteocyte‐mediated porosity, medaka bones lack it, raising questions about alternative reinforcement mechanisms. Using advanced imaging, this study reveals higher residual compressive strains in medaka bone, suggesting an adaptation that ...
