Plastic scintillation dosimetry: Optimal selection of scintillating fibers and scintillators [PDF]
Scintillation dosimetry is a promising avenue for evaluating dose patterns delivered by intensity-modulated radiation therapy plans or for the small fields involved in stereotactic radiosurgery. However, the increase in signal has been the goal for many authors.

Performance of scintillation materials at cryogenic temperatures [PDF]
An increasing number of applications of scintillators at low temperatures, particularly in cryogenic experiments searching for rare events, has motivated the investigation of scintillation properties of materials over a wide temperature range.

Scintillation and Inorganic Scintillators
2016This chapter introduces the basic definitions and gives the minimum necessary information about the phenomenon of scintillation and the mechanisms which have to be taken into account for the development of scintillation materials. It starts with an historical brief and describes the sequence of the processes leading to scintillation in a dielectric ...

How scintillating is scintillation?
2019 URSI Asia-Pacific Radio Science Conference (AP-RASC), 2019Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS), including the Global Positioning System (GPS), GLONASS and Galileo, support a wide range of civilian and military applications, and have become indispensable in precise positioning and time keeping. Ever-increasing dependence on space technologies pervades every area of our daily life like never before in ...

Luminescence and scintillation characteristics of Gd3Al2Ga3O12:Ce3+ scintillators
Optical Materials, 2013Abstract Cerium-doped Gd3Al2Ga3O12 single crystals were grown by the Czochralski method with 1 at.% cerium. Absorption, luminescence and scintillation characteristics were investigated. The light yield and energy resolution were measured under 662 keV γ-ray excitation.

This work is an investigation of the Circinus H20 megamasers, especially the unusual rapid variability seen in their flux density. It has been previously hypothesized that this was due to interstellar scintillation and one of the aims of this study was to test this.

Liquid scintillators with advanced scintillation characteristics
Instruments and Experimental Techniques, 2010Results of studying the influence of the component composition of liquid scintillators on their scintillation properties are presented. The correlation between the energy resolution and the peak-to-valley ratio in β-ray spectra is discussed. Compositions of fire-safe scintillation systems with characteristics above the generally accepted standard are ...
