Atmospheric Scintillation in Astronomical Photometry [PDF]
Scintillation noise due to the Earth's turbulent atmosphere can be a dominant noise source in high-precision astronomical photometry when observing bright targets from the ground. Here we describe the phenomenon of scintillation from its physical origins to its effect on photometry.

Light propagation and fluorescence quantum yields in liquid scintillators [PDF]
For the simulation of the scintillation and Cherenkov light propagation in large liquid scintillator detectors a detailed knowledge about the absorption and emission spectra of the scintillator molecules is mandatory. Furthermore reemission probabilities and quantum yields of the scintillator components influence the light propagation inside the liquid.

Primary and secondary scintillation measurements in a xenon Gas Proportional Scintillation Counter
NEXT is a new experiment to search for neutrinoless double beta decay using a 100 kg radio-pure high-pressure gaseous xenon TPC. The detector requires excellent energy resolution, which can be achieved in a Xe TPC with electroluminescence readout ...

Characterization of water-based liquid scintillator for Cherenkov and scintillation separation [PDF]
This paper presents measurements of the scintillation light yield and time profile for a number of concentration of water-based liquid scintillator, formulated from linear alkylbenzene (LAB) and 2,5-diphenyloxazole (PPO). We find that the scintillation light yield is linear with the concentration of liquid scintillator in water between 1 and 10% with a

Scintillation and Thermoluminescence Properties of a New Scintillator YPS:Ce [PDF]
Cerium doped yttrium pyrosilicate Y2Si2O7:Ce(YPS) single crystal was obtained through the floating zone method. The scintillation and thermoluminescence (TL) properties of YPS:Ce were studied. The scintillation and optical properties of YPS:Ce crystal were characterized by light output, decay time and transmittance.

Impacts of Device Geometry and Layout on Temperature Profile during Large‐Area Photonic Curing
The study investigates how gate geometry affects peak curing temperature during photonic curing of solution‐processed indium zinc oxide thin‐film transistors. Using 3D simulations and experimental validation, it reveals that larger gate areas and smaller aspect ratios increase curing temperature and thus improve transistor performance. Findings provide
