Absorption of Scintillation Light in a 100 $\ell$ Liquid Xenon$\gamma$ Ray Detector and Expected Detector Performance

open access: yes, 2004
An 800L liquid xenon scintillation $\gamma$ ray detector is being developed for the MEG experiment which will search for $\mu^+\to\mathrm{e}^+\gamma$ decay at the Paul Scherrer Institut.

Sensitized Triplet Exciton Generation in Nanostructured Polymer Scintillators: Toward Improved γ/Neutron Discrimination

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Rapid γ/neutron discrimination through PSD is achieved in liquid droplet containing nanostructured polymeric scintillator where a TTA‐active dye is dissolved. The inclusion of a properly selected and dosed sensitizer metalated porphyrin enhances discrimination sensitivity and speed by doubling the density of annihilating triplets and increasing the ...

Effective scintillation materials based on solid solutions ZnS1–xTex and perspectives of their application

open access: yesТехнологія та конструювання в електронній апаратурі, 2011
The optimal technological regime of formation ZnS1–xTex solid solution at spacing 0,0≤х≤0,1 has been determined, and has been shown that fritting in hydrogen atmosphere results in more rapid reaction in comparison to argon due to chemical-thermal etching

Inorganic scintillating materials and scintillation detectors

open access: yesProceedings of the Japan Academy, Series B, 2018
Scintillation materials and detectors that are used in many applications, such as medical imaging, security, oil-logging, high energy physics and non-destructive inspection, are reviewed. The fundamental physics understood today is explained, and common scintillators and scintillation detectors are introduced.

A Mechanistic Blueprint for Fast, High‐Yield Green Scintillators Using Conjugated Polymer–Nanocrystal Composites

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Conjugated polymer–nanocrystal composites are investigated to develop fast, high‐yield green scintillators. The polymer F8BT enables efficient, ultrafast emission, while blends with non‐emitting HfO2 nanocrystals and luminescent CdZnS/ZnS quantum dots reveal distinct sensitization mechanisms.

Wide-band chalcogenide scintillators on the basis of AIIBVI compounds

open access: yesТехнологія та конструювання в електронній апаратурі, 2012
The formation characteristics of chalcogenide scintillators (CS) based on zinc sulfide and selenide are considered. The research has shown that such scintillators have high specific light yield, low afterglow level, short luminescence time, low value of ...

Opportunities of Semiconducting Oxide Nanostructures as Advanced Luminescent Materials in Photonics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The review discusses the challenges of wide and ultrawide bandgap semiconducting oxides as a suitable material platform for photonics. They offer great versatility in terms of tuning microstructure, native defects, doping, anisotropy, and micro‐ and nano‐structuring. The review focuses on their light emission, light‐confinement in optical cavities, and

The tropospheric scintillation prediction of earth-to-satellite link for Bangladeshi climatic condition [PDF]

open access: yesSerbian Journal of Electrical Engineering, 2015
The performance of earth-to-satellite link largely depends on various environmental factors like rain, fog, cloud, and atmospheric effects like ionospheric and tropospheric scintillation.
