Multiscale Approach to Estimation of Scintillation Characteristics
IEEE Transactions on Nuclear Science, 2014This work is directed to analysis and description of the factors which determine the efficiency of inorganic scintillators. The interconnection of different stages of track formation and relaxation is analyzed. The hierarchy of the scales of different processes in scintillators is discussed.

A study of the characteristics of CeF3 scintillating crystals
Instruments and Experimental Techniques, 2000The properties of cerium trifluoride scintillating crystals, grown in Russia using the Stockbarger's method, were investigated. The characteristics of CeF3, PbWO4, Bi4Ge3O12, and BaF2 crystals were compared for use in electromagnetic calorimeters to detect electrons and γ-rays of medium and high energies.

Abstract The performance of solgel scintillators in the radioassay of acid, base and neutral aqueous samples is discussed in detail. These scintillators are shown to be outstanding for both aqueous and non-aqueous samples. A two-phase colloidal system where the effective micelle size of the aqueous phase is negligibly small, compared to the range of ...

Organic Polycrystalline Scintillators with Improved Characteristics
Instruments and Experimental Techniques, 2003The properties of organic polycrystalline scintillators produced by different methods are studied. It is shown that polycrystals in the shape of plates, made by compacting powders of solution-grown organic crystals at premelting temperatures, exhibit better characteristics. Their energy resolution for α and β particles is higher by 40% and, for X-rays,

[Luminescence Characteristics of Scintillator Y2SiO5∶Ce].
Guang pu xue yu guang pu fen xi = Guang pu, 2018Cerium doped Y2SiO5 (YSO) is an important scintillator material due to its high density, non-hygroscopic, excellent light output and fast decay time nature. in the paper, Y2SiO5∶Ce3+0.2%(YSO∶Ce) was grown with high-temperature solid-phase method. The time-resolved excitation and emission spectra and fluorescent decay curves at low temperature and room ...

Characteristics of Liquid-Scintillation α Spectrometry
Atomic Energy, 2002The energy calibration curve in the α-particle energy range 4.01–8.77 MeV, suitable for solutions of a liquid scintillator with different light absorption, is constructed. The mechanisms of broadening and asymmetry of the α peaks of various actinides are studied.

Luminescence Characteristics of Some Scintillating Crystals
Proceedings of the Physical Society. Section B, 1954The phosphorescence observed during the period 2 to 400 μsec following the absorption of gamma-ray photons has been studied in crystals of sodium iodide and potassium iodide (thallium activated) and calcium tungstate. The integrated light output is found to vary with temperature over the range - 180°c to + 15°c in a complex manner differing with each ...
