Scintillation Studies of Transionospheric Signal [PDF]

open access: yes, 1988
37-41Single scattering theory is applied to the problem of ionospheric scintillations. The characteristics of scintillation indices computed with two power spectra, namely, Gaussian and Kolmogorov, are studied in detail.

Mixing‐Driven Defects and Composition Evolution in Multi‐Material Metal Additive Manufacturing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Operando synchrotron X‐ray imaging coupled with high‐fidelity multiphysics modeling uncovers how inter‐material mixing reshapes keyhole dynamics and drives distinct pore‐formation pathways in multi‐material laser powder bed fusion (LPBF). Composition‐dependent instabilities trigger defects, whereas rescanning suppresses porosity and homogenizes Cu ...

RADIO STAR SCINTILLATION NEAR THE AURORAL ZONE

open access: yes, 1964
The Queen's University Radio Observatory at Kingston, Ontario, geomagnetic latitude 55° 33′ N, is particularly well situated for radio star scintillation observations looking both north into the auroral zone and south away from the auroral zone.

A comparison of satellite scintillation measurements with HF radar backscatter characteristics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
International audienceWe examine the correspondence between high latitude ionospheric scintillation measurements made at 250MHz with the occurrence of 10MHz HF coherent radar backscatter, on 13 and 14 December 2002.

Rare‐Earth Mediated Engineering in ZnSe@ZnS:Eu3+ to Simultaneously Achieve Structural Modulation and Atomic Eu Doping Sites for X‐Ray Imaging

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A dual hard‐base anchoring strategy was developed to synthesize ZnSe@ZnS:Eu3+ quantum dots, leveraging fluoride‐oleylamine interactions to create surface atomic Eu doping sites. By precisely tuning temperature, Eu3+ concentration, and fluoride levels, we obtain morphologies ranging from tip growth to coupled flower‐like structures.

From Materials to Medical Images: Translating Perovskite‐Based X‐Ray Detectors Toward Clinical Imaging

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This review examines perovskite‐based X‐ray detectors from a materials‐to‐medical‐images perspective. Recent progress in perovskite‐based X‐ray detectors is discussed with emphasis on their relevance to clinical imaging. The key barriers to clinical implementation are analyzed.

Discussion of the Direct Detection Rx-power Distribution as derived from Intensity Statistics and Comparision with Measurements

open access: yes, 2003
The intensity of a laser beam after propagation through turbulent media such as the atmosphere may follow different probability density functions (PDFs) depending on the fluctuation regime. For non-coherent receivers the aperture averaging effect reduces

Ionospheric scintillation characteristics in IRNSS L5 and S-band signals [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
15-19Ionospheric scintillation is a common phenomenon observed over the low latitude Indian region. It occurs due to the rapid fluctuations in phase and amplitude of the signal and affects Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) very severely ...

Ultra‐Radiostable Covalent Conformationally Interlocked Networks Enabling a Universal Radiometal‐Labeling Platform for Cancer Radioembolization

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Conjugated poly(imide dioxime)‐based microspheres establish a radiometal coordination‐driven conformational interlocked network with ultra‐high radiostability. This platform enables low‐temperature, multi‐radionuclide labeling for SPECT/PET/MRI imaging and radionuclide therapy. Mechanistic insights from EXAFS and DFT reveal enhanced stability, while in
