Using in situ X‐ray tomography, the phase transformation and microstructural evolution of a copper sulfide cathode in solid‐state batteries is 3D visualized and characterized. Copper inclusions generate after phase transformation and the electrode cracks have a strong preferential orientation within the x‐y plane of the cell.

Based on a simplified version of the morphinan scaffold, 3‐[3‐(phenalkylamino)cyclohexyl]phenol analogues were designed, synthesized and evaluated for their µ‐opioid receptor (MOR) antagonist activity in vitro and in silico. Docking studies indicate a peculiar combination of C‐1 stereochemistry and N‐substitutions as feasibly essential for MOR‐ligand ...

Development and operation of a muon detection system under extremely high humidity environment for monitoring underground water table [PDF]
In order to investigate the complex nature of landslides triggered by rainfall, dynamic muon radiography of the motion of the underground water table is planned in a drainage tunnel drilled underneath an estimated fault plane.

ZEL‐H16 (1) has been disclosed to be a high‐affinity non‐imidazole H3R (partial) agonist. However, it was found that 1 acts as an inverse agonist for Gαi in various assays. Concise structure–activity relationship studies, molecular pharmacology, and docking were used to shed more light on the properties of 1.

Multiwell 14CO2-Capture Assay for Evaluation of Substrate Oxidation Rates of Cells in Culture
14CO2 capture is commonly used to evaluate the cellular oxidation rate of respiratory substrates. A modification of the established 14CO2-capture method was developed that enables the use of cells in adherent culture and easy analysis of multiple samples

Effects of cholestatic drugs towards hepatic canalicular and sinusoidal secretion of bile acids were investigated using a biphasic functional assay in human hepatoma HepaRG cells. After an initial loading phase with taurocholate, cells were re‐incubated in taurocholate‐free medium (efflux phase), with or without calcium (for modulating the opening of ...

[2-3H]Mannose-labeling and Analysis of N-linked Oligosaccharides
Modifications of N-linked oligosaccharides of glycoproteins soon after their biosynthesis correlate to glycoprotein folding status. These alterations can be detected in a sensitive way by pulse-chase analysis of [2-3H]mannose-labeled glycoproteins, with ...

Scintillation Counters for the D0 Muon Upgrade [PDF]
We present the results of an upgrade to the D0 muon system. Scintillating counters have been added to the existing central D0 muon system to provide rejection for cosmic ray muons and out-of-time background, and to provide additional fast timing information for muons in an upgraded Tevatron.

Scintillation proportional Xe counter with WLS fiber readout for low-energy X-rays [PDF]
A gas Xe based scintillation proportional counter with cylindrical geometry and wavelength shifting (WLS) fiber readout for X-rays of energy 0.5 - 100 keV is proposed. With such a design large sizes and sensitive area of the counter with a fairly well uniformity is possible.
