Design and Simulation of Three-dimensional Position Sensitive Detector with Monolithic Scintillation Crystal Based on Lens Array for Multiple Focus Points

open access: yesYuanzineng kexue jishu
The monolithic scintillation crystal detector has the ability to position the three-dimension interaction location of the gamma ray in the detector depending on accurate acquisition of scintillation light distribution.

Design and construction of new central and forward muon counters for CDF II [PDF]

open access: yesNucl.Instrum.Meth. A538 (2005) 358-371, 2004
New scintillation counters have been designed and constructed for the CDF upgrade in order to complete the muon coverage of the central CDF detector, and to extend this coverage to larger pseudorapidity. A novel light collection technique using wavelength shifting fibers, together with high quality polystyrene-based scintillator resulted in compact ...

Secondary Scintillation Yield in Pure Xenon [PDF]

open access: yesJINST 2 P05001 (2007), 2007
The xenon secondary scintillation yield was studied as a function of the electric field in the scintillation region, in a gas proportional scintillation counter operated at room temperature. A large area avalanche photodiode was used for the readout of the VUV secondary scintillation produced in the gas, together with the 5.9 keV x-rays directly ...

96-Well Plate-Based Method for Total Collagen Analysis of Cell Cultures

open access: yesBioTechniques, 2001
Total collagen assays are often laborious and use large quantities of consumables. We have developed a new method of assaying total 3H-proline-labeled collagen from cultured cells.

Scintillator counters with multi-pixel avalanche photodiode readout for the ND280 detector of the T2K experiment [PDF]

open access: yesNucl.Instrum.Meth.A577:540-551,2007, 2006
The Tokai-to-Kamioka (T2K) experiment is a second generation long baseline neutrino oscillation experiment which aims at a sensitive search for the nu_e appearance. The main design features of the T2K near detectors located at 280 m from the target are presented. Scintillator counters developed for the T2K near detectors are described.

Simultaneous scintillation light and charge readout of a pure argon filled Spherical Proportional Counter [PDF]

open access: yes, 2022
The possible use of a Spherical Proportional Counter for the search of neutrinoless double beta decay is investigated in the R2D2 R&D project. Dual charge and scintillation light readout may improve the detector performance. Tests were carried out with pure argon at 1.1 bar using a 6x6 mm2 silicon photomultiplier.

A lens-coupled scintillation counter in cryogenic environment [PDF]

open access: yesJINST 6:P02003,2011, 2011
In this work we present an elegant solution for a scintillation counter to be integrated into a cryogenic system. Its distinguishing feature is the absence of a continuous light guide coupling the scintillation and the photodetector parts, operating at cryogenic and room temperatures respectively.

Characterization and Optimization of Vesicle Properties in bioPISA: from Size Distribution to Post‐Assembly Loading

open access: yesAdvanced Biology, EarlyView.
The paper explores the creation and characterization of vesicles through biocatalytic Polymerization‐Induced Self‐Assembly (bioPISA), focusing on achieving size uniformity using centrifugation techniques. It examines the effects of stirring speed on vesicle morphology and analyses the internal polymer‐rich structure using fluorescence correlation ...

X‐ray microscopy and automatic detection of defects in through silicon vias in three‐dimensional integrated circuits

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 4, Issue 12, December 2022., 2022
Through silicon vias are a key enabling technology for interconnection and realization of complex three‐dimensional integrated circuit components. A combined x‐ray microscopy and deep learning object detection workflow for automatic micrometer accurate defect location on liner‐TSVs was developed in this work by developing proper scan recipes and a ...

Highly Luminous Scintillating Nanocomposites Enable Ultrafast Time Coincidence Resolution for γ‐rays Detection with Heterostructured Multilayer Scintillators

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A scintillating polymeric composites loaded with hafnia nanoparticles is engineered to obtain a highly luminous material, thus achieving a 400% improvement of the scintillation yield under soft X‐rays. The nanocomposite is employed to realize a multilayer heterostructured prototype scintillator than enable for ultrafast time coincidence resolution in ...
