Selective Membrane for Non‐Aqueous Electrochemical Flow Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Sulfonated fixed charge functionalization is increased to improve the conductivity of a cation exchange membrane in a non‐aqueous electrochemical cell. Based on ex situ analyses, the material achieved the highest selectivity for this type of system to date.

CHANTI: a Fast and Efficient Charged Particle Veto Detector for the NA62 Experiment at CERN

open access: yes, 2015
The design, construction and test of a charged particle detector made of scintillation counters read by Silicon Photomultipliers (SiPM) is described. The detector, which operates in vacuum and is used as a veto counter in the NA62 experiment at CERN, has

Iron absorption. Measurement of ingested iron59 by a human whole-body liquid scintillation counter.

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Investigation, 1961
Iron absorption was measured in normal and irondepleted subjects by using Fe/sup 5//sup 9/ and a whole-body liquid scintillation counter. Normal iron-replete adult humans absorbed lO% or less of the orally administered test dose.

State‐of‐the‐Art, Insights, and Perspectives for MOFs‐Nanocomposites and MOF‐Derived (Nano)Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Different approaches to MOF‐NP composite formation, such as ship‐in‐a‐bottle, bottle‐around‐the‐ship and in situ one‐step synthesis, are used. Owing to synergistic effects, the advantageous features of the components of the composites are beneficially combined, and their individual drawbacks are mitigated.

Crosstalk correction for determination of gross alpha and beta radioactivities in drinking water using a low background scintillation counter

open access: yesHe jishu, 2021
BackgroundThere is α-β crosstalk in determination of gross α and β radioactivities in drinking water using a low background scintillation counter, which may lead to erroneous measurement results.PurposeThis study aims to reduce the α-β crosstalk in the ...

Scaling Up Purcell‐Enhanced Self‐Assembled Nanoplasmonic Perovskite Scintillators into the Bulk Regime

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents a scalable approach to enhancing bulk scintillators using nanoplasmonics. By integrating 100‐nm silver nanoparticles with perovskite scintillator nanocrystals in a polymer matrix, significant improvements in light yield and decay rates via the Purcell effect are achieved.
