Retinol-induced changes in the phosphorylation levels of histones and high mobility group proteins from Sertoli cells

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Medical and Biological Research, 2000
Chromatin proteins play a role in the organization and functions of DNA. Covalent modifications of nuclear proteins modulate their interactions with DNA sequences and are probably one of the multiple factors involved in the process of switch on/off ...

Timing resolution of a plastic scintillator counter read out by radiation damaged SiPMs connected in series [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
This paper discusses the effects of radiation damage to SiPMs on the performances of plastic scintillator counters with series-connected SiPM readout, focusing on timing measurements. The performances of a counter composed of a $120 \times 40 \times5~\mathrm{mm}^3$ scintillator tile read out by two sets of six SiPMs from AdvanSiD connected in series ...

Cosmic Ray Helium Flux during the Period 1970-1972

open access: yesAntarctic Record, 1974
Cosmic ray helium flux at the energy around 100 MeV/N was measured by four balloon flights in the summer during the period from 1970 to 1972 at Syowa Station, Antarctica, with the aid of scintillation counter telescopes.

Surface Characterization of Scintillator‐Adsorbed Polyethylene Terephthalate Film and Its Use for Detecting α$$ \upalpha $$‐ and β$$ \upbeta $$‐Particles

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, EarlyView.
Thermal transfer using the high‐temperature crimping method led to the bonding of cellulose fibers and a scintillator to the film surface. β‐Particles of tritiated water were detected by immersing the scintillator‐adsorbed film. Scintillation images of the scintillator‐adsorbed film were obtained by irradiating β‐particles from 90Sr/90Y and α‐particles

Simulation of Scintillator Counters with Embedded Wavelength-Shifting Fibers [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2019
We describe a complete end-to-end simulation of the response of scintillator counters to charged particles. The counters were extruded with a titanium dioxide surface coating and two channels for the embedded wavelength-shifting fibers which are read out by silicon photomultipliers.

Oral paltusotine, a nonpeptide selective somatostatin receptor 2 agonist: Mass balance, absolute bioavailability and metabolism in healthy participants

open access: yesBritish Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Abstract Aims Paltusotine is a novel, nonpeptide, selective somatostatin receptor 2 agonist in development for the treatment of acromegaly and carcinoid syndrome. This study investigated the mass balance, routes of excretion, absolute bioavailability and metabolite profile of orally administered paltusotine.

Scintillation counter for simultaneous assay of H3 and C14 in gas-liquid chromatographic vapors*

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1962
An instrument for the assay of H3 and of C14 in gas-liquid chromatographic effluents is described. The radioactive analysis is practically simultaneous with the mass-analysis.
