Extruded Plastic Scintillation Detectors
As a way to lower the cost of plastic scintillation detectors, commercially available polystyrene pellets have been used in the production of scintillating materials that can be extruded into different profiles. The selection of raw materials is discussed.

ABSTRACT Introduction/Aims Transthyretin amyloidosis (ATTR), including hereditary (hATTR) and wild‐type (wtATTR), often presents initially as carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS), often preceding systemic symptoms by several years. Ultra high‐resolution ultrasound (UHRUS) offers detailed visualization of peripheral nerve morphology, but its application in ATTR‐

A freestanding film of completely uniaxially oriented amorphous lamellae was produced. The film exhibited enhanced tensile strength with increasing orientation of the lamella. Abstract An amorphous lamellar freestanding film composed of poly(N‐dodecyl acrylamide) (pDDA) was prepared by annealing a micrometer‐thick film under humid conditions (humid ...

Azole antifungal contaminants disrupt mycorrhizal function and risk agricultural sustainability
Global food production is increasingly threatened by soil degradation, climate change and the rising costs of synthetic fertilisers. Circular agriculture, which promotes resource reuse, is a promising solution, but using treated wastewater and biosolids in farming introduces risks from emerging contaminants like pharmaceutical residues.
