1996 IEEE Nuclear Science Symposium. Conference Record, 1997
We have been investigating the performance of scintillating pad detectors, individual small tiles of scintillator that are read out with wavelength-shifting fibers and visible light photon counters, for application in high luminosity colliding beam experiments such as the DO Upgrade.

Ionizations scintillation detectors
Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research, 1982Abstract A few references are made to factors which affect the energy resolution of proportional scintillation. The coupling of proportional or primary scintillation devices to photoionization detectors (PIPS chamber) is considered, both in the gas and liquid phases, and using the data available some information is given concerning its expected ...

A SUBMINIATURE SCINTILLATION DETECTOR FOR CATHETER OPERATION
Astroparticle, Particle and Space Physics, Detectors and Medical Physics Applications, 2006The feasibility of a subminiature scintillation detector to be inserted in a catheter for lesion localization in nuclear medicine SPECT has been studied. Measurements on a simple laboratory setup have been performed and compared with Monte Carlo results.

Scintillation Detector Systems
2016This chapter discusses the scintillators, materials that produce small amounts of light when hit by radiation. The light emitted by scintillators is collected by photomultiplier tubes, light detectors with an high internal gain. Scintillators are made of different materials (inorganic, organic, gas, liquids) with different light emission mechanisms ...

Coincidence Circuit for a Scintillation Detector of Radiation
Review of Scientific Instruments, 1950This paper describes a very simple low level coincidence circuit of moderate speed, which is suitable for use with two or more multiplier photo-tubes in a scintillation detector of radiation. The operation of the circuit is analyzed, and performance data given to show its effectiveness in eliminating spurious counts due to noise pulses in the photo ...

On stability of scintillation detectors.
Journal of nuclear medicine : official publication, Society of Nuclear Medicine, 1981This paper describes how a photomultiplier tube in a scintillation detector changes pulse height with time, when the detector is exposed to a gamma-emitting source and high dynode voltage. The change in pulse height causes a "drift" of the spectral peaks out of the preadjusted energy window, and errors in counting rate of about 20% are detected.
