Boosting Light‐Driven CO2 Conversion Into CO by a Polypyridine Iron(II) Catalyst Using an Organic Sensitizer

open access: yesChemSusChem, EarlyView.
The combination of a thermally‐activated delayed fluorescence (TADF) dye with a heptacoordinated iron complex as a catalyst allows to achieve a noble‐metal‐free photochemical system capable of boosting light‐driven catalytic conversion of CO2 into CO with unprecedented (quantum) efficiencies and almost unitary selectivity. Abstract Direct photochemical

Solid State Structures of Three Zinc(II) Coordination Polymers with 3‐(1H‐Imidazol‐1‐yl)propanoate Linkers Prepared in Water

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Inorganic Chemistry, Accepted Article.
Coordination polymers of zinc(II) with three readily accessible 3‐(1H‐imidazol‐1‐yl)propanoate ligands are prepared by combining aqueous solutions of the ligands and zinc(II) salts, resulting in a precipitation of the respective coordination polymers.

Structural and Spectroscopic Trends in Alkali Tris(Acetato)Actinyl(VI) Complexes

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Inorganic Chemistry, Accepted Article.
A series of alkali tris(acetato)actinyl(VI) compounds M[AnO2(CH3COO)3] (M=Na, K, Rb, Cs and An = U, Np, Pu) is reported; applying a combination of single crystal X‐ray diffraction, solid‐state Raman, and U(VI) luminescence spectroscopy for their structural and spectroscopic characterization.

Latent Ruthenium Complexes Supported by Two N‐Heterocyclic Carbene Ligands: Synthesis and Catalytic Activity with Distinctive Activation

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Organic Chemistry, EarlyView.
Novel bis‐N‐heterocyclic carbene (NHC) ruthenium complexes were synthesized and tested as latent olefin metathesis catalysts. Catalysts containing a diisopropylphenyl substituent on the NHC were thermally activated at relatively low temperatures compared to catalysts with mesitylene substituents. Complexes with mixed saturated/unsaturated NHCs excelled
