Schematic illustration of “The effects of Mentha piperita essential oil and its nanoemulsion on microbial inhibition and quality preservation of mango yogurt during refrigerated storage”. ABSTRACT Fruit yogurts are more susceptible to microbial contamination than plain yogurts due to the incorporation of fruit ingredients, increasing the need for ...

Effect of technique and darkness on the success of meristem micrografting of Picea abies [PDF]
The possibility of micrografting in vitro shoot meristems of #Picea abies# were investigated on a 18 year-old Norway spruce clone. The rates of success were shown to be greatly influenced by the grafting technique used and by light, with a positive ...

The fabricated cell scaffolds in this work facilitated enhanced satellite cell infiltration, preserved their differentiation potential, and promoted the initiation of myogenesis. ABSTRACT Stem cells are usually sensitive to extracellular matrix (ECM), and an effective synthetic ECM to mimic there in vivo growth surroundings is always desired.

Cold EI—The Way to Improve GC‐MS and Increase Its Range of Applications
ABSTRACT Gas chromatography‐mass spectrometry (GC‐MS) with Cold electron ionization (EI) is based on interfacing the GC and MS with a supersonic molecular beam (SMB) along with electron ionization of vibrationally cold sample compounds in the SMB in a contact‐free fly‐through ion source (hence the name Cold EI).

Task co‐use and product improvement: An organization design perspective
Abstract Research Summary Co‐using tasks—using the same task to produce more than one product—promises economies of scope. However, task co‐use also ties products together, changing a firm's task network by introducing cross‐product interdependencies. In light of these interdependencies, we identify an unrecognized downside of task co‐use for product ...

Marker Selection in Multivariate Genomic Prediction Improves Accuracy of Low Heritability Traits
Multivariate analysis using mixed models allows for the exploration of genetic correlations between traits. Additionally, the transition to a genomic based approach is simplified by substituting classic pedigrees with a marker-based relationship matrix ...

The Effect of Storage Periods and Media of Scion on the Successfulness of Green Budding and Its Water Content in Rubber Plant [PDF]
Proper storage period and medium is essential in order to keep the scion of rubber plant in a good condition, so that the budding success rate can still be maintained as high as possible. The objective of this study was to determine the effect of storage

A durable gain in motor and non-motor symptoms of Parkinson’s Disease following repeated caloric vestibular stimulation: A single-case study [PDF]
Objective: To gain ‘first-in-man’ evidence that repeated caloric vestibular stimulation (CVS), a non-invasive form of neuro-modulation, can induce a lasting and clinically-relevant reduction in Parkinson’s Disease (PD) symptoms.

Enhancing the vase life of cut roses through spectral optimisation during greenhouse cultivation
Here, we examined three red‐to‐blue (R:B) light emitting diode (LED) ratios (90:10, 80:20 and 70:30) in two cut rose cultivars. All treatments enhanced photosynthesis, with 90:10 showing the strongest effects—raising chlorophyll, carotenoids, anthocyanins and carbohydrate levels, and extending vase life by up to 30%.
