Primary sclerosing cholangitis

Lancet, The, 2018
Primary sclerosing cholangitis is a rare, chronic cholestatic liver disease characterised by intrahepatic or extrahepatic stricturing, or both, with bile duct fibrosis. Altered faecal microbiome and metabolome in IgG4-related sclerosing cholangitis and primary sclerosing cholangitis

Gut, 2021
Objective Multiple clinical similarities exist between IgG4-related sclerosing cholangitis (IgG4-SC) and primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC), and while gut dysbiosis has been extensively studied in PSC, the role of the gut microbiota in IgG4-SC remains ...

Sclerosing cholangitis

Baillière's Clinical Gastroenterology, 1997
Primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC) is a chronic, progressive cholestatic liver disease whose aetiopathogenesis is unknown. Geniposide suppresses liver injury in a mouse model of DDC‐induced sclerosing cholangitis

Phytotherapy Research, 2021
Sclerosing cholangitis, characterized by biliary inflammation, fibrosis, and stricturing, remains one of the most challenging conditions of clinical hepatology. Geniposide (GE) has anti‐inflammatory, hepatoprotective, and cholagogic effects.

Sclerosing cholangitis

Current Opinion in Gastroenterology, 2002
Primary sclerosing cholangitis in children can mimic autoimmune hepatitis in the absence of inflammatory bowel disease. Most adult patients have been identified with human leukocyte antigens that either predispose or protect against disease. Novel class I alleles and cytokine polymorphisms may also contribute to disease susceptibility.

Primary sclerosing cholangitis

The American Journal of Surgery, 1987
Primary sclerosing cholangitis was seen in only 7 of 6,494 biliary operations performed between 1948 and 1979. Fifteen more cases were seen in 1,467 biliary operations performed over a recent 5 year period. Surgery was directed primarily towards the differential diagnosis between cholangiocarcinoma and primary sclerosing cholangitis of the upper bile ...

Primary sclerosing cholangitis

The American Journal of Surgery, 1971
Abstract Primary sclerosing cholangitis is an uncommon condition of unknown etiology, presenting extrahepatic biliary obstruction due to a chronic inflammatory obliterative process. Criteria for diagnosis include progressive biliary obstruction due to a chronic inflammatory fibrous process, absence of biliary stones, absence of biliary surgery prior ...
