Enabling Sphere Decoding for SCMA [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Communications Letters, 2017
In this paper, we propose a reduced-complexity optimal modified sphere decoding (MSD) detection scheme for SCMA. As SCMA systems are characterized by a number of resource elements (REs) that are less than the number of the supported users, the channel matrix is rank-deficient, and sphere decoding (SD) cannot be directly applied.

Design of Power-Imbalanced SCMA Codebook [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology, 2022
Sparse code multiple access (SCMA) is a promising multiuser communication technique for the enabling of future massive machine-type networks. Unlike existing codebook design schemes assuming uniform power allocation, we present a novel class of SCMA codebooks which display power imbalance among different users for downlink transmission.

Design Low Complexity SCMA Codebook Using Arnold’s Cat Map

open access: yesJournal of Telecommunications and Information Technology, 2022
In 5G wireless communications, sparse code multiple access (SCMA) – a multi-dimensional codebook based on a specific category of the non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) technique - enables many users to share non-orthogonal resource components with a ...

Uplink SCMA with STBC in Fading Channels

open access: yes2020 IEEE 91st Vehicular Technology Conference (VTC2020-Spring), 2020
Sparse code multiple access (SCMA) is an attractive non-orthogonal multiple access scheme for wireless communications. Meanwhile, space-time block coding (STBC) can achieve high diversity gains in fading channels. This paper proposes an uplink SCMA-STBC with a space-time-based message-passing algorithm (ST-MPA).

The Max-Re-LOGMPA for SCMA Demodulation

open access: yesWireless Personal Communications, 2019
Sparse code multiple access (SCMA) is one of the algorithms in non-orthogonality multiple access. The algorithm utilizes advanced multi-dimensional codebook to acquire high shaping gain, meanwhile, SCMA takes advantage of message passing algorithm (MPA) to obtain low computation complexity in demodulation.

Cuneiform Nucleus Stimulation Can Assist Gait Training to Promote Locomotor Recovery in Individuals With Incomplete Tetraplegia. [PDF]

open access: yesAnn Neurol
Objective Impaired ability to induce stepping after incomplete spinal cord injury (SCI) can limit the efficacy of locomotor training, often leaving patients wheelchair‐bound. The cuneiform nucleus (CNF), a key mesencephalic locomotor control center, modulates the activity of spinal locomotor centers via the reticulospinal tract.
