Abstract This case report presents a recent case of scuticociliatosis in a whitetip reef shark (Triaenodon obesus), housed at a zoo (Haus des Meeres Aqua Terra Zoo, Vienna, Austria). Clinical signs such as uncoordinated swimming and body tilt were observed prior to death.

Glucose tolerance in turbot, Scophthalmus maximus (L.)
Eighty turbot, Scophthalmus maximus (L.), (average weight 61 g) were injected intraperitoneally with exactly 1 g glucose per kg body weight. There was a peak in plasma glucose 3 h post injection. Thereafter a gradual decrease to basal levels was seen within 24 h.
