Higher yields of cyclodepsipetides from Scopulariopsis brevicaulis by random mutagenesis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The ascomycete Scopulariopsis brevicaulis, which was isolated from the marine sponge Tethya aurantium, produces two cyclodepsipeptides, scopularides A and B [1]. Both peptides exhibit activity against several tumor cell lines.

Posaconazole Target Attainment in Critically Ill Children: A 15‐Year Single‐Center Retrospective Analysis

open access: yesClinical and Translational Science, Volume 19, Issue 9, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Posaconazole is a triazole antifungal agent used for prophylaxis and treatment of invasive fungal diseases. Posaconazole has high inter‐individual variability in dose‐exposure relationship and benefits from therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM). Adult studies report particularly high rates of subtherapeutic exposure among intensive care unit (ICU)

One Health Insights From Pteropus medius: Nipah Virus Spillover, Microbiota, and Antimicrobial Resistance

open access: yesMicrobiologyOpen, Volume 15, Issue 4, August 2026.
Environmental and anthropogenic drivers of antibiotic resistance dissemination. The cycle reinforces how anthropogenic inputs, such as sewage, animal dung, hospital effluent, and agricultural runoff bring resistant bacteria and antibiotic residues into soil and water.

In Vitro Evaluation of Thymus serpyllum Essential Oil Against Paracoccus marcusii IBR3: A Potential Natural Protection Strategy for Historic Mural Paintings

open access: yesEnvironmental Microbiology Reports, Volume 18, Issue 3, June 2026.
Historic mural paintings are highly vulnerable to microbial biodeterioration. This study reports the first identification of Paracoccus marcusii strain IBR3 on a 19th‐century Italian mural. In vitro tests revealed enzymatic activities, including casein hydrolysis and calcium carbonate dissolution, linking the strain to protein binder and mineral ...
