Copyrolysis of scrap tires with oily wastes

Journal of Analytical and Applied Pyrolysis, 2012
a b s t r a c t In this study, the conversion of hazardous wastes into liquid fuels was investigated. The pyrolysis of bilge water oil and oil sludge from ships, scrap tires and their blends was carried out at 400 and 500 ◦ C in absence and presence of catalyst. A commercial fluid catalytic cracking catalyst and Red Mud were used as catalyst. Pyrolysis

Scrap Tires as Artificial Reefs

2018
Many tires are recapped to prolong their life. This may postpone consignment to the scrap heap but the time will come when the tire must be removed from service for safety’s sake. Carbon black, normally produced by the incomplete combustion of oil, soon may be produced using scrap rubber in the process.

Kinetic modeling of pyrolysis of scrap tires

Journal of Analytical and Applied Pyrolysis, 2009
Abstract The disposal of used tires is a major environmental problem. With increasing interest on recovery of wastes, pyrolysis is considered as an alternative process for recovering some of the value in scrap tires. An accurate kinetic model is required to predict product yields during thermal or catalytic pyrolysis of scrap tires.

Pore structure of pyrolyzed scrap tires

Chemical Papers, 2008
AbstractInternal structure of carbon black produced by pyrolysis (CBp) of rubber samples from the top and bottom parts of sidewall and tread of a passenger car tire was investigated in nitrogen flow at different temperatures. The pore structure (specific surface area, pore size distribution, and porosity) of CBp and commercial CB, was compared.

The fate of sulfur during rapid pyrolysis of scrap tires

Chemosphere, 2014
The fate of sulfur during rapid pyrolysis of scrap tires at temperatures from 673 to 1073K was investigated. Sulfur was predominant in the forms of thiophenic and inorganic sulfides in raw scrap tires. In the pyrolysis process, sulfur in organic forms was unstable and decomposed, leading to the sulfur release into tar and gases.

Thermogravimetric and pyrolytic investigations on scrap tires

Journal of Analytical and Applied Pyrolysis, 2014
Abstract Thermogravimetric, TG, analysis of scrap tire (ST) powder indicated that it decomposes between 180 and 475 °C losing 60% of its weight in two step process. The material further decomposes to end up with only ∼3.8% residual products at 680 °C. Potassium carbonate slightly affected the modes of scrap tires decomposition. On the basis of the TG

Concrete columns confined with scrap tires.

2009
One possible alternative to conventional transverse reinforcement is to use scrap tires for column confinement. However, there is currently no experimental data available on the effectiveness of scrap tires as confinement reinforcement. It is the objective of the current research program to conduct experimental and analytical investigation to explore ...

Product design with scrap tires

2017
In this study; Ground Tire Rubber (GTR) from scrap tires were blended with Polypropylene (PP) using injection moulding without any additional additives. The effect of particle size and content was investigated by using 0.25mm and 1mm particles with 3 different level contents. Testing and analysing the samples for shore hardness, wettability, mechanical
