Natural Language Processing (Almost) from Scratch
Journal of machine learning research, 2011We propose a unified neural network architecture and learning algorithm that can be applied to various natural language processing tasks including part-of-speech tagging, chunking, named entity recognition, and semantic role labeling. This versatility is

SCRATCH: A Scalable Discrete Matrix Factorization Hashing Framework for Cross-Modal Retrieval
IEEE transactions on circuits and systems for video technology (Print), 2020In this paper, we present a novel supervised cross-modal hashing framework, namely Scalable disCRete mATrix faCtorization Hashing (SCRATCH). First, it utilizes collective matrix factorization on original features together with label semantic embedding ...

Magpie: Alignment Data Synthesis from Scratch by Prompting Aligned LLMs with Nothing
International Conference on Learning RepresentationsHigh-quality instruction data is critical for aligning large language models (LLMs). Although some models, such as Llama-3-Instruct, have open weights, their alignment data remain private, which hinders the democratization of AI.

Mice with mutations at the steel locus (Sr) and the white spotting locus ( W) are phenotypically similar. They have a macrocytic anemia, are white or have a dilution of coat color, and have impaired fertility. SZ mutations result in abnormalities in stromal functions, such that migration of melanoblasts and hematopoietic stem cells is defective and the

Cat-scratch disease osteomyelitis from a dog scratch [PDF]
Osteomyelitis is a rare manifestation of cat-scratch disease in patients who do not have AIDS. The clinical presentation and non-specific subacute course of the disease make diagnosis difficult. We present a child with osteomyelitis of a metacarpal following a dog scratch. Bartonella henselae was found to be the aetiological agent.
