Particle motion and stain removal during simulated abrasive tooth cleaning [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Stain removal from teeth is important both to prevent decay and for appearance. This is usually achieved using a filament-based toothbrush with a toothpaste consisting of abrasive particles in a carrier fluid.

Tribological evaluation of soft metallic multilayer coatings for wear applications based on a multiple pass scratch test method

open access: yes, 2017
The multiple pass scratch test method was employed for characterising the tribological performance of soft metallic multilayer coatings under the linear sliding wear situation. For this purpose, three different structures of tin (Sn) based coating (

Application of CrAlN coatings on carbide substrates in routing of MDF [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
This study deals with the development of Chromium Aluminium Nitride (CrAlN) hard coatings (by varying the nitrogen content in the plasma, the target bias voltage, the working pressure and the deposition time) and their characterization by physical and ...

Effects of velocity-slip and viscosity variation in hydrostatic step-seal [PDF]

open access: yesJurnal Tribologi, 2018
In this work, a new scratch test method - multi-pass dual-indenter scratch test - is used to estimate the abrasion resistance of C120 steel. This steel is used in the moulds manufacture for injection of plastic materials filled with glass fibres that are

Surface Analysis of 3D (SLM) Co–Cr–W Dental Metallic Materials

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2020
The surface condition of the materials involved in dentistry is significant for the subsequent operations that are applied in oral cavity. Samples of Co–Cr–W alloy, obtained through selective laser melting (SLM) 3D printing, with different surface states

Mechanisms of IgE‐mediated food allergy and the role of allergen‐specific B cells

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Food allergy arises when allergen‐specific B cells preferentially produce immunoglobulin E (IgE) antibodies against harmless foods. This article explains the mechanisms driving IgE‐mediated reactions, highlights the central role of these B cells, and discusses how natural tolerance (NT) and oral immunotherapy (OIT) can reshape allergic immune responses.
