MEASUREMENT OF MICROHARDNESS OF PHOTORESIST FILMS ON SILICON BY THE SCRATCHING METHOD

open access: yesПриборы и методы измерений, 2016
In recent years new types of resist for nano and submicronic lithography are intensively developed. As perspective materials for resist various polymeric compositions on a basis thermally and mechanically resistant polymers are considered. The purpose of

Evaluation of anomalies observed on film from S-190A flight system calibration test [PDF]

open access: yes
Due to a persistent problem of scratched film from testing of the Skylab S-190A system, a series of tests were designed to identify the cause of the film scratching. The procedures followed in this test for pretest handling and packaging of the film, the

A Different Perspective on the Solid Lubrication Performance of Black Phosphorous: Friend or Foe?

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Researchers investigate black phosphorous (BP) as a standalone solid lubricant coating through ball‐on‐disc linear‐reciprocating sliding experiments in dry conditions. Testing on different metals shows BP doesn't universally reduce friction and wear. However, it achieves 33% friction reduction on rougher iron surfaces and 23% wear reduction on aluminum.

Brain's reward circuits mediate itch relief. a functional MRI study of active scratching.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2013
Previous brain imaging studies investigating the brain processing of scratching used an exogenous intervention mimicking scratching, performed not by the subjects themselves, but delivered by an investigator.

Explant Analysis of Total Disc Replacement [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Explant analysis of human disc prostheses allow early evaluation of the host response to the prosthesis and the response of the prosthesis from the host. Furthermore, early predictions of failure and wear can be obtained.

Evaluating undesired scratching in domestic cats: a multifactorial approach to understand risk factors

open access: yesFrontiers in Veterinary Science
IntroductionDespite being a natural feline behavior, scratching can become undesirable from a human perspective when directed at household items. This complex behavior can stem from various motivations, ranging from individual cat characteristics to ...

Influence of Temperature on Scratch and Wear Properties of Technical Thermoplastics: Implications for Material Selection

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The share of technical thermoplastics is expected to grow further in the e‐mobility segment. In this study, a detailed temperature‐based tribological characterization of technical thermoplastics is performed. The tribological properties are discussed in terms of the dynamic mechanical properties of polymers at different ambient temperatures. A proof of
