A model for the screen printing of Newtonian fluids [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
A preliminary investigation into aspects of the off-contact screen-printing process is presented. A mathematical model for the printing of a thin film of Newtonian fluid is proposed, in which the screen is modelled as a permeable membrane, and the entire

Dietary Protein Intake and Peritoneal Protein Losses in Peritoneal Dialysis Patients

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Peritoneal dialysis (PD) patients lose protein in their waste dialysate, potentially increasing their risk for malnutrition. We wished to determine whether there was any association between losses and dietary protein intake (DPI). Methods DPI was assessed from 24‐h dietary recall using Nutrics software.

Highly efficient isolation of waterborne sound by an air-sealed meta-screen

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2017
Underwater sound isolation has been a long-standing fundamental issue in industry and military fields. Starting from a simple theoretical model, here an air-sealed meta-screen is proposed to overcome this problem.

Effects of the Fluid Replacement Method During Online Hemodiafiltration on the Solute Removal Performance and Biocompatibility Using the Asymmetric Cellulose Triacetate Membrane

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Pre‐dilution online hemodiafiltration (Pre‐HDF) is predominantly used in Japan, whereas post‐dilution online HDF (Post‐HDF) is more common in Europe. An asymmetric cellulose triacetate (ATA) membrane may improve biocompatibility.

Chroniques de l'écran.  Les apports de la proxémie dans l'élaboration d'une nouvelle taxinomie.

open access: yesMiranda: Revue Pluridisciplinaire du Monde Anglophone, 2016
Created at the end of the 19th century, the cinematograph distinguished itself from other moving pictures apparatus since it combined both a projector and a screen.

Critique [of Economic and Psychic Exploitation of American Indians] [PDF]

open access: yes, 1983
Perhaps the most valuable contribution that Professors Bataille\u27s and Silet’s treatise makes is to connect the images of the American Indian in movies with antecedent images.

An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.
