A New Species of Scutellospora with a Coiled Germination Shield [PDF]
During a survey of mycorrhizal fungi on the upper part of the Cisadane River, on the slopes of Mount Pangrango in Gede Pangrango National Park, West Java, an undescribed species of Scutellospora(Glomales) was discovered. This species has metallic golden to yellow to yellowish-brown spores that possess columnar protuberances.

Mycologia, 1988Scutellospora dipurpurescens, sp. nov. (Endogonaceae) was discovered in several unmanaged pastures and a partially reclaimed surface coal mine in West Virginia. Spores are yellow to greenish-yellow with four walls. An outer finely laminate wall and a second hyaline membranous wall form the outer wall group. The inner wall group consists of a semi-rigid

Scutellospora hawaiiensis : A new species of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungus from Hawaii
Mycologia, 1995Scutellospora hawaiiensis, a species common in coastal sand dunes of Hawaii, is described. The pale orange-brown to red-brown spores have six walls; an outermost unit wall (1.2-2.0 um thick) appressed to a laminated wall (0.8-2.2 um), a coriaceous wall (2.8- 4.8 um), a new type of wall (the "notching wall") (0.5- 1.6 um), whose broken edges consist of ...

rDNA units are highly polymorphic in Scutellospora castanea (Glomales, Zygomycetes)
Gene, 1999The ribosomal DNA (rDNA) units in the glomalean zygomycete fungus Scutellospora castanea were analyzed. Dot-blot assays allowed an estimation of 75 copies per genome. After constructing a genomic library in a phage lambdaEMBL3 vector, 13 rDNA clones were screened and explored.
