Sustainable Solid Polymer Electrolytes Based on NaCMC‐PVA Blends for Energy Storage Applications: Electrical and Electrochemical Insights with Application to Electric Double‐Layer Capacitors

open access: yesEnergy Technology, EarlyView.
A novel biopolymer electrolyte using sodium carboxymethyl cellulose/polyvinyl alcohol and NaPF6 enhances ionic conductivity and electrochemical stability for electric double‐layer capacitors. Conductivity peaks at 35 wt% salt before declining due to ion clustering. Structural and electrochemical analyses confirm promising device performance.

The landscape of epilepsy surgery in older adults: Challenges and opportunities

open access: yesEpilepsia Open, EarlyView.
Abstract The prevalence of epilepsy increases with age, and with the aging population, the number of drug‐resistant epilepsy (DRE) cases is expected to rise. However, epilepsy surgery remains underutilized and is typically offered to younger adults. Despite historical hesitancy due to concerns over risks and outcomes, evidence over the last two decades

Improving the printability of watermelon rind using pectin: 3D printing optimization for the development of gummies

open access: yesFood Biomacromolecules, EarlyView.
Abstract This study explores the innovative use of 3D printing to repurpose fruit processing waste, focusing on the development of vegan gummies from watermelon rind. Gummies were formulated with watermelon rind puree, sugar, and varying pectin concentrations (0%, 5%, 10%, 15%, and 20% w/w) to optimize the hot extrusion 3D printing process.
