Nonlinear 3D Spiral Trajectory Tracking of a 3-DOF Helicopter: A Comparative Analysis of SDRE and Successive Approximation Strategies

International Conference on Control, Decision and Information Technologies
This paper compares State-Dependent Riccati Equation (SDRE) and Successive Approximation (SA) controllers for trajectory tracking of a nonlinear three-degree-of-freedom (3-DOF) laboratory helicopter.

Adaptive SDRE based nonlinear sensorless speed control for PMSM drives

2009 American Control Conference, 2007
This paper presents a new adaptive nonlinear control approach for permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) drives, without requiring speed sensors. The proposed approach is based on state-dependent Riccati equation (SDRE) control technique and its real-time computation method by gradient-type neural networks, that allows one to control PMSM online ...

Application of the Nonlinear SDRE Approach to Control Smal Satellite During Detumble Orbit Phase

Ibero-Latin American Congress on Computational Methods in Engineering (CILAMCE)
Attitude Control of small satellite during detumbling orbit phase is of fundamental importance for the mission's success. In general, the small satellite starts this phase with high angular velocity and the Attitude Control System (ACS) needs to maneuver

Nonlinear Control of Two-Wheeled Robot Based on Novel Analysis and Design of SDRE Scheme

IEEE Transactions on Control Systems Technology, 2020
This brief presents a nonlinear control design for a two-wheeled inverted pendulum robot, based on new analysis of the classical state-dependent Riccati equation (SDRE) scheme and a novel alternative strategy.

A modified SDRE design for the nonlinear benchmark problem with a stability proof

IEEE Conference on Decision and Control and European Control Conference, 2011
An approximation to the SDRE control law for the non-linear benchmark problem is developed, which is a solution of an optimal control problem. Although the SDRE solution of the non-linear benchmark problem was derived using the tools of optimal control, the SDRE control law is not the solution of any optimal control problem.

A SDRE-based asymptotic observer for nonlinear discrete-time systems

Proceedings of the 2005, American Control Conference, 2005., 2005
A nonlinear asymptotic observer for a discrete-time nonlinear system is considered. The observer is based on a Kalman filter that uses the state dependent Riccati equation (SDRE) to obtain the filter gain. Unlike the extended Kalman filter, the SDRE-based Kalman filter does not involve the evaluation of a Jacobian at every time step.

Real-time computational methods for SDRE nonlinear control of missiles

Proceedings of the 2002 American Control Conference (IEEE Cat. No.CH37301), 2003
Computational speed and performance issues arising in the practical implementation of the state dependent Riccati equation (SDRE) technique are discussed. A software package for real-time implementation of the SDRE technique was developed during the present research.

SDRE: Selective data redundancy elimination for resource constrained hosts

2012 IEEE Global Communications Conference (GLOBECOM), 2012
Data redundancy elimination (DRE), also known as data de-duplication, reduces the data amount to be transferred or stored by identifying and eliminating both intra-object and inter-object duplicated data elements. It is one of the key content delivery acceleration techniques over wide area networks (WANs) to reduce delivery latency and bandwidth ...

APPROXIMATE NONLINEAR OPTIMAL SDRE TRACKING CONTROL

IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 2007
Abstract The intrinsic nonlinearities of aircraft dynamics become exceptionally significant when there are demands for large maneuvers, causing aircraft to operate near the stability limits of the system, where series problems can be encountered, since the real issue becomes dealing with nonlinearities that dominate system behavior.

SINS Transfer Alignment Based on Robust SDRE Filter

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2014
In order to improve the rapid response ability of the inertial navigation system mounted on the aircrafts which are onboard a ship, a novel rapid transfer alignment method of the strapdown inertial navigation system (SINS) on a rocking base is put forward.Interfering motions such as rolling, pitching, and yawing motions caused by sea waves are ...
