The Development of the Sea-Anemones Metridium dianthus (Ellis) and Adamsia palliata (Bohad)

open access: yes
Metridium and Adamsia are genera of the Family Sagartiadae, Sub-Order Malacactineae, Order Actiniidae, Sub-Class Zoantharia. The Malacactinese (or “True” Sea-Anemones) with the Scleractineae (or “True” Corals) make up the Order Actiniidae.

Ecological traits of Caribbean sea anemones and symbiotic crustaceans

open access: yes, 2012
In Caribbean coral reefs, many crustacean species associate with sea anemones, but only a few are anemone symbionts. We examined several ecological traits of 3 anemone species (Bartholomea annulata, Condylactis gigantea, Lebrunia danae) and their ...

Insights into the lifestyle and preservation of Arenactinia ipuensis n. gen. et n. sp. (Anthozoa, Actiniaria) from the Early Silurian (Ipu Formation, Parnaíba Basin, Brazil)

open access: yesEarth History and Biodiversity
Soft-bodied cnidarians are scarce in the fossil record and only a few sea anemones are documented in Paleozoic, mainly in Konservat Lagerstätten. We present a new cnidarian taxon exhibiting wide intraspecific morphological diversity: Arenactinia ipuensis

Recovery at Morvin: SERPENT final report [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Recovery from disturbance is poorly understood in deep water, but the extent of anthropogenic impacts is becoming increasingly well documented. We used Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROV) to visually assess the change in benthic habitat after exploratory ...

Unveiling the Genomic and Transcriptomic Landscape of Anemones and Corals: Key Players in the Mutualistic Symbiosis with Algae and Anemonefish [PDF]

open access: yes
Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology Graduate UniversityDoctor of PhilosophyThe mutualistic symbiosis between giant sea anemones, Symbiodiniaceae algae, and anemonefish is a classic example of mutualism in coral reef ecosystems.
