High-resolution sea clutter modelling using compound inverted exponentiated Rayleigh distribution
Remote Sensing Letters, 2023This letter addresses high-resolution sea clutter modelling. Radar clutter modelling is essential to develop constant false alarm rate (CFAR) detection schemes. In this paper, we propose a compound model by the use of the inverted exponentiated Rayleigh (

Analysis of sea clutter radar data
Proceedings of International Radar Conference, 2002We perform a detailed analysis of experimental data, collected at Osborne Gunnery Range with MacMaster University IPIX radar, to test the theoretical models developed in the literature. A comparison of the amplitude histograms with the K and lognormal distribution shows that VV data exhibit a K behaviour, while HH data are better fitted by a lognormal ...

Adaptive Detection of Radar Targets in Heavy-Tailed Sea Clutter With Lognormal Texture
IEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing, 2022This article deals with the problem of detecting a marine target with coherent radars in a correlated heavy-tailed sea clutter background. The heavy-tailed sea clutter is modeled by a compound-Gaussian model, and the clutter texture is characterized by ...

Fractal approach for sea clutter generation
IEE Proceedings - Radar, Sonar and Navigation, 2000Clutter is obtained by applying physical optics to a sea surface described by a fractal model. This approach gives two interesting advantages. It is possible to control sea, radar and geometry parameters so reproducing a realistic scenario in which the clutter signal is generated.

Analysis of sea spikes in radar sea clutter data
IEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing, 2006In this paper three sets of high-resolution, coherent, and polarimetric radar sea clutter data are analyzed and compared with radar sea clutter models. The nature of the data allows a thorough analysis of the power, polarization and velocity of the sea clutter.

A Novel Sea Clutter Rejection Algorithm for Spaceborne Multichannel Radar Systems
IEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing, 2022Due to the high-speed movement of a spaceborne radar (SBR) platform, the geographic clutter spectrum expands severely, resulting in the useful moving target signal submerged by the main-lobe clutter background.

Multifractal features of sea clutter
Proceedings of the 2002 IEEE Radar Conference (IEEE Cat. No.02CH37322), 2003Sea clutter refers to the backscattered returns from a patch of the sea surface illuminated by a transmitted radar pulse. Since the complicated sea clutter signals depend on the complex wave motions an the sea surface, it is reasonable to study sea clutter from nonlinear dynamics, especially chaos, point of view, instead of simply based on random ...
