Nonhomogeneous Sea Clutter Suppression Using Complex-Valued U-Net Model
IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Letters, 2022This letter considers the problem of target detection in the nonhomogeneous sea clutter environment and proposes the complex-valued U-Net (CV-UNet)-based clutter suppression method. Specifically, first, the complex signal features of radar echo sequences

Sea and ground radar clutter modeling
2008 IEEE Radar Conference, 2008The modeling of the clutter echoes is a central issue for the design and performance evaluation of radar systems. The aim of this paper is to describe the state-of-the-art approaches to the modeling and understanding of land and sea clutter echoes and their implications on performance prediction and signal processors design.

Persymmetric Detection of Radar Targets in Nonhomogeneous and Non-Gaussian Sea Clutter
IEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing, 2021This article addresses the detection problem of radar targets embedded in nonhomogeneous and non-Gaussian sea clutter. Nonhomogeneity leads to insufficiency of secondary data for estimating the clutter speckle covariance matrix, and non-Gaussianity ...

Analysis of multifractality for sea clutter
Proceedings of 2011 IEEE CIE International Conference on Radar, 2011To further research the multifractality of sea clutter, multifractality of IPIX radar sea clutter has been analyzed by Qth-order Moment Structure Partiction Function (Q-MSPF) method in detail in this paper, through simulation analysis, two target detection methods based on analysis of the mass exponent function and the source of multifractality are ...

Sea clutter reflectivity in ducted propagation
Record of the IEEE 2000 International Radar Conference [Cat. No. 00CH37037], 2002Certain models of sea clutter reflectivity establish a relationship between reflectivity and grazing angle in standard propagation conditions. This paper assumes that grazing angle maps uniquely to phase slope at the surface. A parabolic equation model is used to calculate the surface phase slope for both standard and nonstandard conditions.

Representation of radar sea clutter
IEE Proceedings F Communications, Radar and Signal Processing, 1988Sea clutter data obtained with a land-based X-band radar are analysed in terms of a correlated gamma-distributed noise model. Results obtained with both vertical-vertical and horizontal–horizontal transmit-receive polarisations are shown to be broadly compatible with the model.

Measurements of bistatic radar sea clutter
2011 IEEE RadarCon (RADAR), 2011Bistatic radar is a technique of considerable potential importance and interest. Despite this, current understanding of the properties of bistatic clutter, and in particular, bistatic sea clutter, is limited at best. We present some results of a recent trials campaign to gather bistatic sea clutter data, and to analyse the data in order to develop ...

Multiplicative multifractal modeling of sea clutter
IEEE International Radar Conference, 2005., 2005Sea clutter refers to the radar returns from a patch of ocean surface. Accurate modeling of sea clutter and robust detection of low observable targets within sea clutter are important problems in remote sensing and radar signal processing applications.

K-distributed coherent sea clutter
IEE Proceedings F Radar and Signal Processing, 1991The properties of coherently detected high-range-resolution radar sea clutter are examined with reference to those properties observed noncoherently. It is shown here how the nonGaussian characteristics of noncoherently detected sea clutter manifest themselves in the coherent domain and how these characteristics require a thorough understanding in ...
