Impact of Daily Arctic Sea Ice Variability in CAM3.0 during Fall and Winter [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Climate projections suggest that an ice-free summer Arctic Ocean is possible within several decades and with this comes the prospect of increased ship traffic and safety concerns.

Atmospheric impact of Arctic Sea ice loss in a coupled ocean–atmosphere simulation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The atmospheric response to an idealized decline in Arctic sea ice is investigated in a novel fully coupled climate model experiment. In this experiment two ensembles of single-year model integrations are performed starting on 1 April, the approximate ...

Aggressive prostate cancer is associated with pericyte dysfunction

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumor‐produced TGF‐β drives pericyte dysfunction in prostate cancer. This dysfunction is characterized by downregulation of some canonical pericyte markers (i.e., DES, CSPG4, and ACTA2) while maintaining the expression of others (i.e., PDGFRB, NOTCH3, and RGS5).

Role of sea ice on satellite-observed chlorophyll-a concentration variations during spring bloom in the East/Japan sea [PDF]

open access: yes
The relationship between the spring bloom along the Primorye coast and the sea ice of the Tatarskiy Strait in the northern region of the East/Japan Sea, a semi-enclosed marginal sea in the North Pacific, was investigated using the ten-year SeaWiFS ...

Seasonal sea ice variability in eastern Fram Strait over the last 2000 years [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
We present a high-resolution (ca. 50 years) biomarker-based reconstruction of seasonal sea ice conditions for the West Svalbard continental margin covering the last ca. 2k years.

Glycosylated LGALS3BP is highly secreted by bladder cancer cells and represents a novel urinary disease biomarker

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Urinary LGALS3BP is elevated in bladder cancer patients compared to healthy controls as detected by the 1959 antibody–based ELISA. The antibody shows enhanced reactivity to the high‐mannose glycosylated variant secreted by cancer cells treated with kifunensine (KIF).

Survivin and Aurora Kinase A control cell fate decisions during mitosis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aurora A interacts with survivin during mitosis and regulates its centromeric role. Loss of Aurora A activity mislocalises survivin, the CPC and BubR1, leading to disruption of the spindle checkpoint and triggering premature mitotic exit, which we refer to as ‘mitotic slippage’.

Improvement of Arctic Sea Ice Multi-Parameter Assimilation on Sea Ice Concentration Simulation

open access: yesHaiyang Kaifa yu guanli
Based on the CICE sea ice model and the PDAF parallel data assimilation framework, this paper uses the local error subspace transform Kalman filter method (LESTKF) to assimilate the sea ice concentration, sea ice thickness and sea ice freeboard data into
