This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Analisis Sea Level Rise Menggunakan Data Satelit Altimetri Jason-2 Periode 2008-1012 (Studi Kasus: Laut Utara Jawa Dan Laut Selatan Jawa) [PDF]
Sea level changes carried by tidal observations at the beach. But, the method as it still has some shortcomings in some ways such as limited coverage areas around the coast so the sea face of changing data is only accurate for a relatively shallow sea ...

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

Elimination of rocket engine asymmetric loads during tests at sea level [PDF]
Secondary injection concept eliminates asymmetric loads and may increase thrust rocket engine loads during sea level tests. The concept uses either a tubular manifold with evenly spaced injection ports or secondary fluid injected at the turbine exhaust ...

The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

Evidence of Increased Deep Ocean Warming From a Sea Level Budget Approach
Assessments of the global mean sea level (GMSL) budget over the satellite altimetry era (since the early 1990s) have concluded that the GMSL budget is closed within data uncertainties until 2016. However, studies have shown that since then, the sea level

The Economic Impact of Substantial Sea-Level Rise [PDF]
Using the FUND model, an impact assessment is conducted over the 21st century for rises in sea level of up to 2-m/century and a range of socio-economic scenarios downscaled to the national level, including the four SRES storylines.
