A Spatial and Semantic Alignment Fusion Network for SeaLand Port Segmentation

open access: yesIEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Applied Earth Observations and Remote Sensing
To address the issues of complex backgrounds and poor segmentation performance for small ship objects in sea–land port areas, we propose a sea–land port segmentation algorithm based on spatial and semantic alignment fusion.

Study on the hierarchical structure of container port systems along the South China Sea in the context of low carbon emissions

open access: yesFrontiers in Marine Science
Under the low-carbon background, 37 ports of countries along the South China Sea with capacity ranking in the world’s top 100 container ports are selected as the research object to establish a shipping network, construct a directed dichotomous shipping ...

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...

Pathways and pitfalls: a qualitative study of student experiences in biomedical science education

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Biomedical science students from underrepresented backgrounds face barriers including financial strain, disrupted laboratory access and cultural exclusion. Peer networks provide vital support when institutional systems are difficult to navigate. To create inclusive learning environments and achieve academic success, educators should blend active, hands‐

Short‐term response to biologic therapy in psoriatic arthritis (PsA) is not influenced by disease duration at initiation of therapy

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, Accepted Article.
Objectives We aimed to determine whether the short‐term response to biologics in biologic‐naïve psoriatic arthritis (PsA) is better in patients initiating biologic treatment early in the disease course. Methods PsA patients who started biologic therapy from the year 2000 to 2025 were included for analysis. Patients considered in the early treatment (ET)
