Investigation on the Impacts of Three Sea Salt Ions on the Performance of CSA-OPC Binary System

open access: yesBuildings
This study aimed to explore the impact of three corrosive ions—SO42−, Cl−, and Mg2+—on the hydration property of calcium sulphoaluminate (CSA) cement. Cement paste was prepared using three types of sea salt ion solutions with varying concentrations as ...

Integrative miRNOMe profiling reveals the miR‐195‐5p–CHEK1 axis and its impact on luminal breast cancer outcomes

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In luminal (ER+) breast carcinoma (BC), miRNA profiling identified miR‐195‐5p as a key regulator of proliferation that targets CHEK1, CDC25A, and CCNE1. High CHEK1 expression correlates with worse relapse‐free survival after chemotherapy, especially in patients with luminal A subtype.

Chemistry of sea-salt particles and sea-salt fractionation in Antarctic region

open access: yesAntarctic Record, 2010
Observations of aerosol constituents and acidic gases were carried out at Syowa Station (1997-1998 and 2003-2006; JARE-38~ 39, and JARE-44~ 47) and Dome Fuji Station (1997, JARE-38).

Year-round records of bulk and size-segregated aerosol composition in central Antarctica (Concordia site) – Part 1: Fractionation of sea-salt particles [PDF]

open access: yesAtmospheric Chemistry and Physics, 2017
Multiple year-round records of bulk and size-segregated composition of aerosol were obtained at the inland site of Concordia located at Dome C in East Antarctica.

Targeting carbonic anhydrase IX/XII prevents the anti‐ferroptotic effect of stromal lactic acid in prostate carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In prostate carcinoma, lactic acid, secreted by highly glycolytic cancer‐associated fibroblasts, is imported into tumor cells through the MCT1 transporter and prevents RSL3 and erastin‐induced ferroptosis (A). Targeting of carbonic anhydrase IX/XII, the main extracellular pH regulators, in tumor and stromal cells reduces microenvironmental acidosis and

How the Inhomogeneity of Wet Sea Salt Aerosols Affects Direct Radiative Forcing

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, 2019
Sea salt aerosols were assumed to be homogeneous spheres in most climate models. However, observations show that sea salt particles are inhomogeneous during the deliquesce and crystallization processes.

Observationally constrained analysis of sea salt aerosol in the marine atmosphere [PDF]

open access: yesAtmospheric Chemistry and Physics, 2019
Atmospheric sea salt plays important roles in marine cloud formation and atmospheric chemistry. We performed an integrated analysis of NASA GEOS model simulations run with the GOCART aerosol module, in situ measurements from the PALMS and SAGA ...

Scattering by solutions of major sea salts [PDF]

open access: yesOptics Express, 2009
Increased scattering by seawater relative to that by pure water is primarily due to additional fluctuation of the refractive index contributed by sea salts. Salts with different ionic weight and sizes, while barely affecting the scattering that is due to density fluctuations, have a significant effect on the scattering that is due to concentration ...
