Wave-Induced Seabed Response in Non-homogeneous Anisotropic Seabed
2013In a natural seabed, the soil properties is complicated, which normally vary with soil depth, change of temperature, and geographic characteristics. Furthermore, anisotropic soil behavior is commonly observed in marine sediments. However, most previous studies have been limited to the case of isotropic seabed with uniform soil characteristics.

The characteristics of seabed ground motion are the theoretical basis for the study of seawater‐soil‐structure interactions and seismic‐induced geological hazards. There are numerous offshore marine structures located on sloping seabeds.

Response in Seabed of Finite Depth with Variable Permeability
Journal of Geotechnical and Geoenvironmental Engineering, 1997Conventional investigations of the wave-seabed interaction have assumed that the seabed has an uniform permeability. However, the soil permeability in most marine sediments varies with burial depth due to consolidation under overburden pressure. Here an analytical solution describing the short-crested wave-induced soil response in a seabed with ...

Ocean Engineering, 1998
To simplify the complicated mathematical process, most previous investigations for the water waves-seabed interaction problem have assumed a porous seabed with isotropic soil behavior, even though strong evidence of anisotropic soil behavior has been reported in soil-mechanics literature.

Response of a porous seabed around breakwater heads
Ocean Engineering, 2008Abstract The evaluation of wave-induced pore pressures and effective stresses in a porous seabed near a breakwater head is important for coastal engineers involved in the design of marine structures. Most previous studies have been limited to two-dimensional (2D) or three-dimensional (3D) cases in front of a breakwater. In this study, we focus on the

Dynamic response of porous seabed to ocean waves
Computers and Geotechnics, 2001In this paper, dynamic response of a seabed to ocean waves is treated analytically on the basis of a poro-elastic theory. The seabed is modelled as an isotropic homogeneous material of finite thickness. Most previous investigations for the wave-seabed interaction problem have treated the problem in the well-known quasi-static state.

Random Wave-Induced Seabed Response
2013In this chapter, unlike most previous investigations for wave-induced soil response, a simple semi-analytical model for the random wave-induced soil response is established for an unsaturated seabed of finite thickness. Two different wave spectra, the B–M and JONSWAP spectra, are considered.
