Micro-CT assessment of gap-containing areas along the gutta-percha-sealer interface in oval-shaped canals.

International Endodontic Journal, 2022
AIM To assess the interfacial adaptation (gap-containing areas) of two root canal sealers (EndoSequence BC Sealer and AH Plus) to a conventional gutta-percha (GP) cone (GP-sealer interface) in oval-shaped canals filled using the single cone technique ...

Influence of variations in the environmental pH on the solubility and water sorption of a calcium silicate-based root canal sealer.

International Endodontic Journal, 2021
AIM To evaluate the influence of pH variation on the solubility and water sorption of a premixed calcium-silicate-based root canal sealer (EndoSequence BC Sealer) compared to the gold standard based on epoxy resin (AH Plus Jet) after immersion in ...

Influence of dual rinse irrigation on dentinal penetration of a bioceramic root canal sealer: A Conofocal microscopic Analysis.

Australian Endodontic Journal, 2021
To evaluate the sealer penetration after applying dual rinse irrigant in comparison with sodium hypochlorite and 17% EDTA. Mandibular premolars were prepared by ProTaper Next and irrigated with NaOCl, NaOCl/Dual Rinse or NaOCl/EDTA and then obturated ...

Micro-computed tomographic assessment of supplementary cleaning techniques for removing bioceramic sealer and gutta-percha in oval canals.

Journal of Endodontics, 2020
INTRODUCTION The aim of this study was to conduct a micro-computed tomographic (micro-CT) assessment of the effectiveness of three supplementary cleaning techniques in reducing the residual volume of gutta-percha and a bioceramic sealer after performing ...

Ultrasonic endodontic sealer placement

Journal of Endodontics, 1988
The use of ultrasonic energy for applying sealer tothe root canal system was investigated. A method of ultrasonic sealer placement was described. This in vitro study using human mandibular molars compared hand instruments with ultrasonics for sealer application.

Mutagenicity of endodontic sealers

Biomaterials, 1985
Four endodontic sealer materials and some of their chemical constituents were subjected to Ames' test for mutagenicity with the Salmonella/microsome assay. Extracts of two zinc oxide-eugenol based materials and of one gutta-percha-zinc oxide-chloroform based sealer were negative in the test.

Dimensional changes of endodontic sealers

Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, 1993
The purpose of this study was a long-term comparison of the dimensional changes of endodontic sealers of diverse properties. The sealers were injected as thin layers on the internal walls of glass pipettes 1 mm in diameter. The pipettes were filled with deionized water, and the water meniscus levels were recorded periodically up to 180 days.
