Sealer Distribution in Coronal Dentin

Journal of Endodontics, 2002
A major cause of tooth discoloration is sealer remnants in the pulp chamber after root canal treatment. The purpose of this study was to assess coronal distribution and color changes of four commonly used sealers placed in the pulp chamber after 2 yr. Fifty extracted premolars were cross-sectioned in the coronal third of the root.

Properties of Tricalcium Silicate Sealers

Journal of Endodontics, 2016
Sealers based on tricalcium silicate cement aim at an interaction of the sealer with the root canal wall, alkalinity with potential antimicrobial activity, and the ability to set in a wet field. The aim of this study was to characterize and investigate the properties of a new tricalcium silicate-based sealer and verify its compliance to ISO 6876 (2012).

Radiopacity of root canal sealers

Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, 1981
A standardized and reproducible method of radiopacity measurements of dental materials is presented. The method entails densitometric comparison of standard-sized specimens with an aluminum step wedge under controlled conditions for exposure and film processing. Methodologic aspects have been evaluated and discussed.

Glass Ionomer Root Canal Sealers

Journal of Veterinary Dentistry, 1993
Since their introduction, glassionomer cements have undergone changes in formulations and have been endorsed for a number of clinical applications. Consistent reporting of bio-compatibility, durable adhesion, and beneficial fluoride release have followed the evolving glass ionomer cement. This report recommends the use of glass ionomer cements as root
