Mechanochemical Synthesis and Characterization of Nanostructured ErB4 and NdB4 Rare‐Earth Tetraborides

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 27, Issue 6, March 2025.
ErB4 and NdB4 nanostructured powders are produced by mechanochemical synthesis. 5 h mechanical alloying and 4 M HCl acid leaching are used in the production. ErB4 and NdB4 powders exhibit maximum magnetization of 0.4726 emu g−1 accompanied with an antiferromagnetic‐to‐paramagnetic phase transition at about TN = 18 K and 0.132 emu g−1 with a maximum at ...

Dynamic Precipitation during High‐Pressure Torsion of a Magnesium–Manganese Alloy

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
An ultrafine‐grained alloy is produced by high‐pressure torsion of solutionized Mg–1.35 wt% Mn. Precipitation of nanometer‐scale Mn particles during deformation provides pinning sites. This prevents the formation of a bimodal grain structure and results in a finer grain size than for pure Mg.

Comparative Analysis of Different Root Canal Sealers’ Cytotoxicity to Human Cells

open access: yesJournal of Pharmacy and Bioallied Sciences
Background: Because they create a hermetic seal, root canal sealers are essential to the effectiveness of endodontic therapy. One important aspect affecting these sealers’ biocompatibility and clinical results is their cytotoxicity. Materials and Methods:

Evaluation of the Potential of Laser Shock Peening Compared with Cold Expansion for Improving Fatigue Resistance of Riveted Lap Joints of Aerospace Grade 7175 Al Alloy

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study investigates laser shock peening for enhancing fatigue performance of riveted aerospace aluminum joints. A comparative approach with cold expansion combines fatigue testing and synchrotron X‐ray methods. Integrating mechanical testing with residual stress and strain characterization provides insights into how different treatments affect the ...

The impact of sealer extrusion on endodontic outcome: A systematic review with meta-analysis.

open access: yesAustralian Endodontic Journal, 2020
The purpose of this systematic review was to qualify and quantify the evidence regarding the effect of extruded sealers on endodontic treatment outcomes. Two reviewers independently conducted a comprehensive literature search.

Adaptable Tile‐Based Pneumatic Origami through Structurally Coupled Localized Actuation

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This article presents tile‐based pneumatic origami structures with rigid tiles and flexible fabric creases, achieving adaptable properties including morphing shape, selective multistability, and tunable stiffness. Independently pressurized folding bladders at each crease enable structurally coupled localized actuation of origami structures.

Comparison of apical leakage between Ketac Endo sealer and Grossman sealer

open access: yesOral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, 1994
Forty-eight extracted human teeth were prepared for study to compare Ketac Endo cement with Grossman's cement in preventing leakage of a dye. Four groups were formed: (1) Grossman's sealer with a single gutta percha cone; (2) Grossman's sealer with lateral condensation of gutta percha; (3) Ketac Endo sealer with a single cone of gutta percha; and (4 ...
