The library search in analytical chemistry [PDF]
The library search applied as a tool for the fast retrieval of chemical information is described in detail. The advantages, problems, and solutions for different types of data collection and banks (spectral collections, numeric data, textual data, chemical structures) associated with the use of the library search are outlined and discussed.

Exploratory Search and Interactive Data Analytics
Companion Proceedings of the 22nd International Conference on Intelligent User Interfaces, 2017In recent years there has been a growing interest in developing new methods and systems that allow users to interactively explore large volumes of data, such as document collections, multimedia collections or biomedical datasets. There are various approaches to support users in this interactive environment ranging from the development of new algorithms

Analytics on talent search examination data
International Journal of Business Intelligence and Data Mining, 2020Learning analytics and educational data mining has greatly supported the process of assessing and improving the quality of education. While learning analytics has a longer development cycle, educational data mining suffers from the inadequacy of data captured through learning processes.

Analytic coaching: In search of insight
2005In analytic coaching, ‘understanding from the inside’ is central, in the form of a joint journey of discovery by coach and coachee. The aim is to increase the coachee’s insight into his or her own issues and problems. The coach does not pose as an ‘expert’, or even as someone who has acquired a large measure of self-knowledge or insight into human ...

News search using discourse analytics
2013 Digital Heritage International Congress (DigitalHeritage), 2013The vast numbers of digitised documents containing historical data constitute a rich research data repository. However, computational methods and tools available to explore this data are still limited in functionality. Research on historical archives is still largely carried out manually.

Analytical methods for online searching
Online Review, 1983Analytical methods are presented to facilitate the comparison of multiple sets during an online search. The basic concept is the utilization of discrete displays of unique citations from successive formulations. The discrete displays are formulated by using Boolean NOT to remove citations from previously designated good sets.

Analytical search models for optimum seeking in simulations
OR Spektrum, 1980Indepently developed analytical and simulation models of the same real world phenomenon can effectively complement each other. A simple analytical model can “learn” from a more realistic simulation model and can in turn provide “evolutionary” guidance in optimum seeking to the simulation model.
