Research of Core Characteristics of Search Coil Magnetometer
Advanced Materials Research, 2012In this paper, the theory of apparent permeability and effective permeability of the core is described. The apparent permeability with coil in different positions of the core is investigated and simulated by HFSS. The best location of the coil is determined according to the curves of the apparent permeability.

Applying wire antenna theory to cored search coils
Radio Science, 1998It seems conceivable that the magnetic field pattern around ferromagnetic objects of high permeability is similar to the electric field pattern around conductive objects, provided that the shapes of the magnetic and electric objects are identical. As a result, we expect the mmf behavior in the gap between two ferromagnetic limbs immersed in a magnetic ...

An Analysis of Ocular Counter-rolling Measured with Search Coils
Acta Oto-Laryngologica, 1989Ocular counter-rolling (OCR) was studied by using a scleral search coil magnetic system in normal subjects and in pathological cases. Normal ocular counter-rolling was 2.7 degrees-7 degrees when the head was tilted 10 to 30 degrees. In most cases of benign paroxysmal positional vertigo, the OCR to the ipsilateral side was reduced, while that to the ...

The Use of Search Coils for Magnetic Measurements
International Journal of Electrical Engineering & Education, 1982The basic principle of search coils is explained by reference to the integral form of Maxwell's equation. The salient features of instrumentation, necessary for search coil applications, are discussed, followed by a brief description of a few typical examples of magnetic measurements by a variety of search coils.

Nystagmus of Pelizaeus-Merzbacher Disease A Magnetic Search-Coil Study
Archives of Neurology, 1991Magnetic search-coil oculography of three brothers with clinically diagnosed Pelizaeus-Merzbacher disease disclosed the presence of binocular elliptical pendular nystagmus in two patients in whom the waveform of the nystagmus was not obvious on inspection. This study, the first reported application of high-resolution oculography to Pelizaeus-Merzbacher

Reconsideration of Bell's phenomenon using a magnetic search coil method
Documenta Ophthalmologica, 1992The exact direction, amplitude and time course of Bell's phenomenon is still controversial. We evaluated the eye movements associated with spontaneous blinks, voluntary blinks and prolonged eyelid closure using a magnetic search coil method. Spontaneous blinks were accompanied by transient downward and nasalward eye movements, and similar movement ...

Search-coil head-thrust and caloric tests in Ménière's disease
Acta Oto-Laryngologica, 2005Our findings suggest that canal function is substantially preserved in subjects with active vertigo attacks as a result of Ménière's disease (MD). In these subjects, the head-thrust test (HTT) may not be as sensitive to canal dysfunction as traditional caloric testing.

Simulation Analysis of Micro Coils for the Fabrication of Micro-scaled Search Coil Magnetometer
2016 International Conference on Computer and Communication Engineering (ICCCE), 2016Magnetic field detection has been widely accepted in many applications such as military systems, outer space exploration and even in medical diagnosis and treatment. Low magnetic field detection is particularly important in tracking of magnetic markers in digestive tracks or blood vessels.

Search Coil based Online Diagnostics of Transformer Internal Faults
IEEE Transactions on Power Delivery, 2017An online approach based on application of search coil for transformer winding fault detection is presented in this paper. Earlier attempts report use of search coil for the detection of transformer interturn fault. This paper extends application of search coil for detection of winding displacement in addition to interturn fault identification ...

Monte-Carlo Search for Snakes and Coils
2012The “Snake-In-The-Box” problem is a hard combinatorial search problem, first described more than 50 years ago, which consists in finding longest induced paths in hypercube graphs. Solutions to the problem have diverse and some quite surprising practical applications, but optimal solutions are known only for problems of small dimension, as the search ...
